Happy humpday! Well, I'm essentially holding my own, in more ways than one. I had a few days that I could not make it to my step goal, but then there were a few days when I was able to go over that amount a bit, even though I'm still not able to walk at my normal speed. The soreness, however, is much better. My biggest complaint now is that I have this nagging cough that I don't think is related to the lisonpril since it's not a dry cough, and I also feel a little "off normal." If it doesn't go away soon, I'm going to have to get to the doctor again so she can check my lungs. Perhaps she'll try another BP med just to see if the cough goes away. I like that since I've made my deductible, I have been getting the lisonpril at no cost.
Kelly, I had been wondering how your eye is doing and so I'm glad you gave us an update. You know I really relate to unknown allergies and how frustrating that can be. Eventually, my symptoms just kind of went away, although in the back of my mind, I'm always wondering when and if they'll pop up again. Hopefully your eye problem will go into remission, too.
Lois, I am so glad that you met with the chefs. Even if you don't do this long-term, it could just be the catalyst you need. Sometimes we need a jump start. And doesn't it seem like there is something in restaurant food and fast food that just makes us want more? And yay for the doppler findings. That is good news.
Sheesh, as I typed this I wondered if we are once again starting the thread at the same time! I've just had a lot of things to get done today and wasn't able to get here earlier. For one thing, I'm editing a book of poetry for a former coworker and we met today to go over my edits and suggestions. I'm also trying to nail down some plans so that we can finally get to NC to check on my sister. I think we may be able to do that in late August. Hope you are rested up after all your travel.
Well, hubby just informed me that the Nats game today is a day game and I need to get downstairs. Lois, the Diamondbacks are killing us!
Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
7-day averages before I forget:
Steps = 10,069
Kcals burned = 1,662
MFP has stopped picking up my activity and kcals burned, so I'm having to do this by hand from the Fitbit site on my phone. Arghhhhhh

Well, that's about the speed I go, so I'll take it. (yesterday's weight) Sorry to be posting a day late again. Wednesdays are hard unless I get it done early. And, I have my trainer soon, so I'll have to be brief.
Sarah, your averages are still great, imo. Keeping your steps over 10K is amazing. And, congrats on being in the 120's! I wonder if your cough is related to the lisinopril . . my hubby has that issue. I'm also not really big on the fact that they increased the dosage. When I went to a really good cardiologist, he said you can't really know your BP unless you track it at multiple times of the day and for at least 10 days, and after sitting still for at least 5 minutes. Then, you look at the average BP. It's going to be higher at times and that's normal. He's pretty reluctant to prescribe BP meds. My lisinopril is a combo pill with hydrochlorothiazide . . lowest dose of both, and when my weight goes down, I have to cut it in half to prevent dizziness and headaches.
Lois, I think it's great that you're getting going with a chef! I'm sure you'll love it, and they can keep your meals healthy and within your calorie goals. I can tell you're getting your groove back. I hope your leg will cooperate, but this will surely help with that!
Off to my trainer for now. Have a great day.

Happy Thursday Ladies. Like you Sheesh - Wednesdays are a bit of a challenge. I ended up in the main office most of the day yesterday. Back at home today and plowing through my workload.
The chef has a list of meals, and we selected 4, hopefully they'll be better in calorie/fat portions etc. They'll be here on Monday and Monday night we'll have balsamic salmon for dinner.
So the radiologist's report is finally available to read. Not sure what it all means (I'll have my PT explain to me on Wednesday). this is the line that causes me concern.
". Postsurgical changes of ACL reconstruction. Attenuated and ill-defined graft fibers,
concerning for graft tear. The graft is diminutive with ill-defined fibers most pronounced in the midsubstance."
So I need to make myself get off my *kitten* and start walking regularly again. I just bought my 12 yo granddaughter Disneyland tickets for Labor Day weekend, so I better be able to walk. I'll have a knee brace with me and a scooter reserved - just in case.

I hope you’re having a nice Sunday! I’ve finally gotten caught up on neglected tasks around here, and I got a 1 hour workout today.
Lois, I know attenuated means weakened or diminished but not sure what that might mean for your knee, other than maybe you can strengthen it. So, I think you’re right to plan to walk more, and maybe even better, PT. I’m so glad you’re meeting with them Wednesday! And, hopefully the meals will be healthy and tasty. Do they provide nutrition info so you can log them?
Sarah, I’ve been to a few AAA baseball games here, and one very minor league game in Portland. (The “Pickles” ) We follow the Giants too. I think they play the Nats this week ? Also, The Olympics mixed in, so always sports on in our house! Makes summer more fun.

Happy Monday all! Sheesh, we do play the Giants this week, and lord knows, with our young rebuilding team, they will probably squash us! But we're still loving watching these youngsters. Our day will come again.
I'm finally able to move a bit more comfortably and so I'm going to enjoy my time between now and whatever comes next. (I should name my left boob, then I can say whatever comes next for xxxx. ) It's still too hot and muggy here to walk outside very much. I did do a couple of laps around the cul-de-sac last night just before dark. A thunderstorm had cooled things off a bit.
Hubby's diverticulitis seems to have resolved and so have the leg cramps he had on Friday. Honestly, 2024 has just been a stinker of a year for us with the pipes and yard and health issues, too. But I'm still leaning on the "it hasn't affected our breathing" to stay in halfway good frame of mind. And there is always someone who experiencing worse. A woman in my class just had an HVAC problem and when that was being fixed, they discovered asbestos in her dry wall. The house was actually built after they banned that, but apparently the builder had some left over and . . . So she's in a hotel while they tear out walls and ceiling!
Lois, I hope the PT can explain the test results in lay language and give you a good idea of the outcome you can expect. Knees are so tricky, but if anyone can power through and get strength back, I know you're the one. Just don't push yourself too hard.
Well off to clean some and then head to the pool for an hour or so. I really don't want to go in this heat, but our neighbors up the street are going to bring our neighbor who had to move to assisted living to the pool today for a couple of hours, and we want to see her. My heart still breaks for her because she left home to see a doctor and never got to come back. Hope like heck that never happens to me (or any of us). I also have to get back to editing soon. I finished the first edits of that book of poetry, returned it to the author, but now have the final edition ready to go through before it is due to the publisher on Aug. 23.
Hope it's a good week for us all.0 -
Happy Monday and thank you Ladies for the vote of confidence on the knee. The chef is here this morning and currently cooking. We chose balsamic salmon, a cheeseburger meatloaf, beef and broccoli and something else I can't remember. We get 12 servings in total so that should take care of us for lunches and dinners. I'll keep you posted on meals. No, I don't think they provide the nutritional value, I may ask next round.
I know it's not quite as muggy as you, but for us, it's yucky. Storms are rolling in every night. Last night, even with migraine meds last night, the thunder was so loud and over the house that it woke me up. Hubby and I did venture out to movies yesterday for Deadpool & Wolverine. It was so hot, the car gave the warning that the front camera was disabled due to excessive heat. We had the 12pm show, so it was 111. And it's already 99 at 7am this morning and stifling.
I am in migraine hell at the moment. These storms are crazy at the moment. hot and muggy during the day, but the storms hit our area about 10pm or later but the pressure to my head is killer - hurts to touch my scalp killer. I didn't realize how much I touch my head (My bangs are longer and in my eyes).
PT in 48 hours!
