I'm down 0.2 pounds. Still trying to be patient. To be fair, though, I kinda messed up my weigh-in this morning by having a bigger meal than anticipated for dinner last night, plus wine. Other than that, I had a pretty solid week of sticking to my plan and keeping up with my exercise. I will just keep plugging along.

I'm up 1 lb from last week. Seemed like a difficult week last week. Ate the wrong foods too many times during the week. Ice been wondering around out in the desert for a long time. I'm gonna get a grip on this thing yet.

I had my semi annual Cardiologist appointment. Overall my EKG didn't show any Afib and my blood pressure was 130/60 so that's all good. Just one item to keep a watch out for and that was to keep a watch on no infection with the catheter as it could have a bad result with my prosthetic aorta valve.
    On to another week

My official Thursday evening studio weight was again in the Green zone, down 0.2#. To me, that sort of change could as easily be air pressure or where I stood on the scale rather than actual weight change, so I take neither credit nor blame. On the positive side, my 14 day daily average is in the bottom half of the Yellow Zone (and down 2# from a week ago). That means I’m sticking with my Yellow Zone eating plan for now, but also that I’m making progress.

I’m also mulling whether the numbers I’m using for my Zones are still right, but I’m still just “fixin' to think on it”, as my brother-in-law would say.

Positive for the week? We were supposed to visit our neighbor for dinner last Friday and bring dessert. I purchased the Boston Cream Pie that was rated highest in the Greater Boston area - but my wife was ill last Friday, so it sat in the fridge taunting me. On Tuesday, my wife and I each had a slice, and the rest went in the kitchen trash, and the trash went out to the trash bin in the garage. (Yes, it’s still out there three days later in the 85° garage, but let’s just say I’m much less tempted by it now.) And that slice still fit into my Yellow Zone plan for that day. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm up 2.4. This increase is a combination of eating too much during the week and eating a salty dinner late last night. But based on my consumption this week, I expected a gain. I indulged a sweets craving this week. Unlike Charlie, who rid his house of the tempting dessert, I ate the entire gluten free lemon strawberry cake over the course of two days. I could have shared with some neighbors, but no. It was a smaller cake, and the calorie total was 1600, but still.

I think that odd sugar craving is now gone. Phew.

I have an event at the end of the month that I'd like to go to feeling good about my choices for the past month. I've had plenty of time to lose weight for the event, so nothing heroic can happen now. But I still have time to go to it feeling good about where I'm headed. So this week, I'm getting back to basics.

Up 1.0 lbs. I need to fine tune my plan to start edging down more than staying steady, since I still need to achieve 14 lb loss to reach goal. Saw doc yesterday and BP excellent. Still conducting my protein timing experiment. Even though my downward progress has hit a plateau recently, I'm not unhappy about it. My diet is nutritious, heart healthy and satisfying and I don't feel deprived. In managing weight, I look more at the forest not the trees.
