The last two weeks have been a very busy partner walking challenge where the competition was fierce and it was so much fun, but along with that, it's a very busy time of year and my body decided to get the absolute worst sinus infection and I was trying to handle all of the above. Let's just end this with UGH! That's where I am...so this week, with stepping into a new month and everyone in the midst of fall craziness, I thought we'd do an unusual challenge...it will be a little combination of everything...all pointed in the direction of Fall and Pumpkin Madness!!!
So, my directions for you are to round up some favorite fall recipes, decorating ideas, pumpkin pictures, memes, quotes, activities for fall...football season recipes, desserts for Halloween parties, etc...share them once a day...would love to see pet pictures playing in the leaves, dressed up in costumes...anything relaxing, joyous, fun and peaceful...I'm focusing on just breathing this week...hope to hear from you this week...
Let's enjoy the week and take a little stress break...
What's your favorite drink this time of year...bonus smiles if it involves pumpkin...I will admit I'm enjoying the occasion pumpkin donut and loving hot tea with cinnamon!!!
See you in the chat thread!

This is a difficult one for me because we don’t celebrate fall across the pond the way you do but I’ll see what pictures I can find.3

@nansbones7708 It's hard to draw from a perspective I don't have...please post about the time of season you're experiencing now...here everyone has just gone pumpkin crazy and it was all I could think of...change of season has the same effects everywhere...something new...so help to bring us state-siders, new perspective! Great idea! What do you look forward to in October? Can't wait to see!

I will welcome October with a picture that I took today. These are New England Asters. They are about 3 to 4 ft tall, dark purple with an orange center. This is my favorite flower, although I think it's actually considered to be a weed. I've never seen them in anyone's Garden!
The lighter purple flowers are New York Asters. They are much more common.

I have made this a few times, I have a cup as part of my lunch.4 -
I like this time of year when I can see the sunrise without having to be up at silly o’clock.

It's warm drinks, hot soups, pumpkins, pigskins and foliage for the month of October!

I have a love hate relationship with fall. I like the slightly cooler weather, but really dislike winter and cold, and fall means winter is coming.
That said, I love everything pumpkin! Pumpkin bread is my absolute favorite. I want to try that pumpkin soup @p8m6bwghh9! My favorite fall drink is chai tea, and starbucks has it with the pumkpin foam on top. I usually only get it once a year, because I dislike drinking my calories.
I start decorating for fall in September. I have pumpkins/leaves on the mantle, a fall wreath on my front door, and I updated the design on my chalkboard 🎃

I've been working a lot of overtime this week due to harvest season with my agricultural job and haven't had a lot of spare time to start decorating for fall. So, last night I stayed up until 1 am making this and working on other decorations. When I got up this morning, looking at this while making my coffee put a smile on my face….

I LOVE Fall! Even though we don't really get one in Florida. 😿 I'm so envious of people who get to experience the changing of the leaves in person. I can only look at pictures and videos of it.

I love this!! Thank you
I love puzzling but around this time of year I get more into it and tend to whip out the more holiday-themed ones. This of the one I’m currently working on.6 -
Yes, I'm being snarky!

I am also in the UK, around the 20th October I start getting my ingredients for my Halloween bits ie pumpkin soup, pumpkin oat & jellybean cookies, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins or cupcakes.
I started the cupcakes & cookies for my older boys as they have adhd & to much sugar & certain things would send them hyper.3 -
Fall is my favorite time of year… I love layers my clothes, boots, holiday season.. just always a good time.3

Fall is always baking season for me, so I started it off with some loaves of bread I'm really pleased with how well they came out, especially compared to what my loaves looked like a few years ago. ^_^

@lislisa123 Now THAT's creative...love it!!!
Love ALL the pictures you're posting...I love the colors of fall...and the changing of the leaves, but like others have said...it's a reminder that winter is coming and I hate the cold. Luckily in VA, our winters are short...so colder temps will only run December to February and then it warms up again. I'm hoping we have another winter with no snow...that's what I'm hoping for...but usually we have one or two bouts with that nasty white stuff. UGH! So, for now, I'm enjoying the changes...and I do love pumpkin, but I have to stay away from Starbucks...those chai tea latte's are delicious...I'm told though that you can get just a hot tea sprinkled with cinnamon and add splenda and it's good too.

It's nearly chili time too during the fall...I was raised in the Ohio Valley (Kentucky) and we add spaghetti to our chili, but I've made it without as well. How do you make your favorite chili recipe?

Also in the UK, so we don't have special traditions or decorations at this time of year either. I am really curious about all the different things you are doing. I have a few garden grown pumpkins but usually only use them for soup
I did buy myself this fabric panel to make up a cushion cover and bunting, hopefully I can finish it tomorrow and take a photo

Fall is also my favorite time of the year. I love seeing the leaves change colors and all the fall decorations. Several years ago my family moved from North Carolina to West Virginia for my husband's job. WV has the most beautiful landscape and the hills are gorgeous in the fall. And yes, I am one of the weird people who loves it when the weather gets cold, so bring on the soups!!4

We are out hiking today. Still not much color. We were at Great Turkey Pond in Concord New Hampshire.
That's me on the far side of the bridge

Turned out to be a beauty of a day for a walk in the neighborhood

Everyone's comments reminded me of this meme!
I also love the September to December seasons and especially all the holidays, traditions, decorations, foods, music, etc. (But it is a letdown with those dark, dreary, cold, sleety, snowy January-February and March months to follow!)6 -
I like chili in the fall. I had a college housemate who would make his mother's chili recipe, including serving it on top mashed potatoes. I haven't had that in ages, so I think I'll have it sometime soon. But I also like chili with cornbread. So, I guess I'll have to make a big pot of chili so I can have it both ways!
I never liked pumpkin pie when I was younger. More recently, I've found it to be pretty good, although I still prefer several other kinds of pie, like apple pie, berry pie, chocolate pie,...
Every year, when Starbucks starts serving their "fall" drinks, I usually think "no way", but this year I'm thinking maybe I ought to give a pumpkin spice latte a try, maybe with a pumpkin cream cheese muffin too. I mean, shouldn't I know what I'm missing? lol5 -
Monday autumn thought
Not today for sure with the battering my window but on dry, cris, frosty mornings I like to let my inner child loose to walk through the piles of dry leaves and enjoy the sound of the crunch, then after the fun I remember they need to be cleared from my garden.6 -
My go to fall/winter meal is crackpot chili and cornbread. Just your basic chili just cooked on low all day in a crackpot. Get home from work and dig in. lol!4
-
I didn’t really have chili until I was introduced to frito pie and chili cheese tots while living in Texas. I also learned how many versions there were and to ask how hot it was before trying. I agree with cornbread is fantastic.3
-
I am not a chili person at all. But I do love appple crisp in the fall!
