The NFL weekend kicks off Thursday with the Vikings at the Rams and ends with Giants at Steelers on MNF.  There are plenty of college and NFL games in between.  What do you expect from your favorite team(s) or player(s)?  How did they do this weekend?  What about those teams you love to hate?  This thread is here for all your football talk.

The Cowboys' kicker is the best player on the team this year. It turns out he is a pretty regular guy, not someone who thinks they are better than everyone else. Check this out:

Dallas Cowboys All-Pro kicker Brandon Aubrey wasn't spotted at the team's practice on Wednesday, which is unusual. The reason why he wasn't present at practice Wednesday was because he had jury duty, according to the team's official practice report from their public relations staff. Typically people can get out of jury duty for work or school reasons, but Aubrey opted to not delay his civic duty after being selected to be on a 12-person jury for a felony assault case (third-degree felony strangulation) in Tarrant County, Texas, per The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The Star-Telegram also reported that the case doesn't require for jurors to be sequestered, which means he will be available for Dallas' Week 8 game at the San Francisco 49ers on "Sunday Night Football."

Off topic from the OT football talk. Who are you pulling for in the World Series, which starts tonight (Friday)?

My father was a native New Yorker who grew up a big Brooklyn Dodgers fan. I even have his 1940 opening day ticket to Ebbets Field ($1.50 admission price). He never forgave the Dodgers for leaving Brooklyn. So, in honor of my Dad, I will root against the LA Dodgers in the WS.

Well, the Cowboys left no doubt that they are a bad football team, and even getting their injured defensive players back will not help them. Dak Prescott padded his stats again with meaningless 4th quarter plays after doing nothing up to that point in the game (except throwing 2 interceptions). Coach McCarthy was calling running plays into the middle of the SF defensive line while the boys were down three scores in the 4th quarter, despite the Cowboys not having anything close to a running game. Did I mention that the Cowboys are a bad team?

On a happier note, thanks Al and Charlie for your Pats giving Aaron Rogers another loss. Charlie, you might not get that coveted top pick in the draft this year after all.

I don't cheer for the Dodgers or the Yankees. However, I have to salute the walk-off grand slam in game 1.

And, I remain supportive of the Oregon Ducks!

I'll root for the Dodgers over the Yankees anytime. As a Red Sox fan, I HATE the Yankees.

As a Padres fan, I despise the Dodgers because...they are are the Dodgers. As a Padres fan, I despise the Yankees, who swept us in the 1998 Series ( I went to Game 4, which was cool despite the loss).

Me too! I didn't think I cared about the WS after my Guardians were eliminated in the ALCS, but I underestimated how good it feels to see the Yankees struggle. I'm not a Dodgers fan by any stretch, but I like Dave Roberts (he was a fun player with the Indians 25 years ago!), and I like that they played "I Love LA" after their two home wins. :D
