The NFL weekend kicks off Thursday with Cincinnati at the Baltimore and ends with Miami at L.A. Rams on MNF. There are plenty of college and NFL games in between. What do you expect from your favorite team(s) or player(s)? Did your team make a trade at the deadline? What about those teams you love to hate? This thread is here for all your football talk.

Do any of you play fantasy football?

Jamar Chase scored 55.4 points for my team last night with his 3 TD performance in a loss to Baltimore. Last week my other WR, Garrett Wilson, scored 30 fantasy points in the Thursday matchup. It's a great feeling to be way ahead so early in the week's games!

The game I'm most looking forward to watching this weekend is Minnesota @ Rutgers. After a middling start to the season, the Gophers have been playing well and will be aiming for their 5th straight win.

Nobody took me up on the semi-serious request that I posted late in last week's thread. On the chance that it just didn't get seen, here is a copy of that question. Anyone care to offer-up their team?

This season has turned into a dumpster fire for Dallas. I will always be a Cowboys fan, but now I need another team to root for the rest of this year to keep things interesting. I turn to the Goadies for suggestions. Anyone want to make a case for their team? Eagles and Steelers need not apply. Anyone?

    Take my Patriots - please . . .

That’s partly serious. It gives you a chance to get in on the ground floor of a rebuild. You’d be rooting for a team that’s almost guaranteed to improve over time, rather than watching the slow decline of an empire. (We did that the past four years so you don’t need to.)

Charlie and Al, there is talk around here that Bill Belichick might be the Cowboys' coach next year. As Patriots fans, do you give equal credit to him and that quarterback? Has the league passed him by?

Do NOT take the Jets for your own sanity!

As a Cowboys fan I was conditioned to hate the Redskins, but dare I pull for the Commanders?

The NFC North is where it's at this season. The Vikes or Lions will be fun to watch the rest of the way. Both won yesterday despite not having everything go their way. That's a reliable marker for good coaching and solid teamwork.

As long as Jerry Jones is the General Manager, who they put in the coaching positions won't matter.

Honestly, I think the whole was greater than the sum of the parts - they each helped the other accomplish things they couldn’t have achieved independently. But let’s face it - who but Bellichick would have kept a healthy #1 pick like Bledsoe on the bench?

I’m not sure his ego is a good fit with Jerry Jones' ego. Also, if I were an owner, I probably wouldn’t want a coach that might only stick around for +/- 20 wins to get past Shula. I’d want a longer horizon. I suspect that was a peice of the issue last cycle, and would be again. (I’m also not sure how well he connects with 21 year old kids nowadays.)

In other words, God bless you if you take h8ml but it will be a bit of a side show.

A side show? That fits the Cowboys.
