Fasting

Is fasting bad for people with diabetes?
Or maybe just one meal a day— is that harmful?

Some people do intermittent fasting. I don't think I would make a change in eating habits without checking with the doctor. You might need meds adjusted or the timing of them maybe.

it is best to break up your meals to keep your blood sugar more constant through out the day. not to mention the energy you need to get through the day. you will just feel better.

i have medication that i take morning and night. depending on what i eat during the day, i may not take medication at night.

loosing weight is not about starving yourself or following some set fad. It's about learning how to eat in a healthy manner that you can do consistently for the rest of your life. The weight loss will just be an added bonus.

I’m not fasting to lose weight nor following a fad.

I will observe that people respond differently to things. I think education about nutrition has been a one-size-fits-all when it really doesn't. I know what works for me. I tell my doctor what I am doing and he gives the big thumbs up. He likes my numbers and does not see any red flags.

I am basically carnivore except carnivore "officially" does not allow dairy. I typically tell people I am "very low" carb and a picky eater. I have been following some version of "very low" carb since 2016, so it seems to work for me and is sustainable.
