Today's Topic: What are you thankful for?

Some may see it as a cliche, but I think it is very important to remind ourselves of the good things in our lives.

So, what are you are thankful for this year?

One of things I always respond with when asked this question is that I am very thankful to be employed.

2010 - 2012 was one of my darkest periods. I was out of work for a huge portion of that time, and I could not find anything at all. But, for the last 12 years, I have been gainfully employed, and I truly enjoy my current job, which I feel contributes greatly to the security of our nation.

And, I thankful for my wife, who is the love of my life. Because of her, I have so many intangible riches.

I'm thankful for life and health. At 80, I'm still upright, walking, cooking, and still in love with the love of my life, TOL for over 60 years.

Rather than being thankful for specific things, which I am , I try to maintain an attitude of gratitude. This makes my life—and others—a lot more contented. I try not to stick my head in the sand about unpleasant things—and there are too many to count, including war and unabated misery in the world—and do what I can in my small way to help.

Wow, so hard to say, because there are simply so many things I'm thankful for! Family, friends, health, retirement, mental cognition, etc. To be fair, there were some major challenges this year, but on the whole, I have a lot to be thankful for!

So thankful to be alive headed toward 78. Thankful for modern medicine that almost 5 years ago gave me a pacemaker of which I'm 100% paced a new new aortic valve. So thankful for life itself my dear wife and son. Still working in my Real Estate Company I give thanks.

Thankful that my health is at least age-appropriate.
