Pre-Tagigo - 21 days to go

In just 21 more days I will be 55 years old. And I keep telling myself that it is "not too late". Not too late to stop drinking, stop eating unhealthy foods and lose this massive weight. Every year I make the same goals, promises and plans. But I am not going to give up. Tagigo means "dawn" in esperanto. I am going to wake up!

Mission
Cultivate a vibrant life through prioritizing health and wellness, while fostering financial responsibility.

Tagigo Main Goals
1. Create and establish new, healthier habits.
2. Explore business and career ideas
3. Be mindful of financial impacts of earning, spending, saving and investing
4. Maintain strong family bonds and friendships

This year - Tagigo 2025 I plan to:

(1) Stop drinking alcohol altogether
(2) meditate daily
(3) pray daily
(4) stretch daily
(5) get in 4-5 hours or more of Pickleball per week
(6) get in 2-3 hours of strength training per week
(7) Lose 60 pounds in one year. In other words "get to One-derland".

    I decided to add reading to my already long list of changes I want to make. Reading Daily and reading a minimum of 12 books a year (one a month)!

    I had a terrible day yesterday -- too many cocktails and too much pasta.

    But today ---

    Meditated 5 minutes
    Prepared my lunch
    Healthy breakfast of eggs and avocado
    Prayed
    Journaled
    Stretched

    So far so good. Now I need to do the work and make sure I exercise today.

    December 5 - Pre Tagigo - 14 days to go

    I was terrible yesterday. I had a bunch of cheetos in the car after I went to the grocery store. Then went home and had a whole box of mac and cheese. It is so annoying to have a fall like that (especially after tracking and trying so hard for several weeks). I have to admit that although I do not see the weight coming off when I stand on the scales I do feel different. Eating better and staying away form alcohol gives me a sense of control that makes me feel better about myself even if the weight is not coming off. Today I weighed in at 252.5 which is not bad. I want to be down to 250 or less (113 kg) by Dec 19 when I go to see my nutritionist.

    I also need to get my Daily List under control because by Dec 20 I want to be doing my Daily List religiously and without fail until it becomes an absolute habit.

    And last but not least --- I need to join a gym and start some strength training.

    Cocktails, cocktails, cocktails. My downfall. It ruins my sleep, ruins my health and makes me say weird stuff on the phone (!) I am absolutely committed to putting a stop to the cocktails before my birthday.

    Had a great pickleball tournament and I managed to stay away form alcohol which is a huge accomplishment for me. Over the next few weeks I have SO many things planned for my pre-birthday preparations and festvities -

    Dec 11 - semi glutide consultation and possible prescription and injection (!)
    Dec 12 - microneedling session
    Dec 12 - eye exam
    Dec 10 and 12 - hypnotherapy sessions
    Dec 17 - mole and skin tag removals

    Dec 19 - mani/pedi, brow and lash tint, cut and blowdry
    Dec 19 - corporate headshot photo session
    Dec 20 - birthday

    On Dec 19 I plan to have my last cocktail. On Dec 20 I will have some cake, celebrate my birthday and get started on a one year plan to improve my health, lose weight, save money, cultivate friendships and stay/get close with my family. It's a big plan but as I get older I think it is important -- SO important.

    I can't believe I only have 4 more days to go. In 4 more days I will be 55 years old. The good news is that I am losing weight and feeling good. Now I just need to get a grip on my work and my finances!

    I am actually starting to panic a little bit. I have a friend who JUST had her birthday yesterday and I always thought she was older than I am (or at least the same age) and yesterday I found out she is 3 years younger than I am. In my mind I am SO young but in reality I am pretty old. It is kind of stressing me out and I need to stop thinking about it (or at least change my way of thinking).

    I have only lost 1kg since getting semiglutide. I took my second injection this morning.

    December 20 - Tagigo - DAY ONE

    I had a great day yesterday. I got all the things I planned on doing. My hair was great, my makeup stellar and the photographer was great but I am still fat, frumpy , old and ugly. Sorry to say it that way but... yeah... it sucks getting old. There is no way to stop it.

    I am committed (super committed) to getting this weight off. My goal of dropping 53 pounds between now and May 10 is do-able but very very challenging. I would -- literally have to lose a little more than 2.5 pounds per week. But it has to happen. My primary goal is to lose the 53 pounds by May 10 (before I leave for America). But my absolute MUST is to lose it by Dec 20, 2025.

    This is the beginning. TAGIGO 1 - Day One.

    I went to the doctor's office and my stats for today are:

    Weight 114.8 kg (252.5 lbs)
    BP 139/77

    December 21 - Tagigo - DAY TWO

    I slept deeply last night - more than 8 hours! So deeply that I was almost late for morning Pickleball. I got there 10 minutes late and had a great time despite the heat and humidity. I went grocery shopping and spent a lot of money on meat, cleaning supplies and a new microwave. Also the refrigerator is in the process of being repaired which is much-needed.

    I am still behind on my work and need to get that under control (preferably before the holiday starts. I very much intend to spend Christmas day at home with a big meal and a book. I usually go out (I rarely stay at home) but for Christmas Day I plan to get up, tidy the house, start preparing for Christmas Lunch and then read in bed the rest of the time.

    December 24 was preparation for Christmas (sitting in my office doing nothing and then shopping frantically for Christmas dinner ingredients). Dec 25 was Christmas and I made a terrible dinner. The desserts were pretty awful. There is a reason I never cook!

    But now it is Dec 26. I have pickleball tonight and the house is finally clean. I need to read more and scroll less!

    I have been great about playing Pickleball -- I have managed to do that almost every day! But I have been terrible about getting other stuff done -- like my work, cleaning my office, invoices, cleaning my car, organizing my house, reading. I am very disappointed in my failure to get my work done. That said - I have been eating "ok" (not a lot) but I still eat the wrong things -- pizza, ice cream, fried dumplings.

    I joined the GYm. And I decided to just focus on doing a 20-30 minute strength training circuit 4-5 days a week for one month for now. The circuit is:-

    5-6 minutes - treadmill walk
    3-4 minutes - rowing machine
    3 minutes - leg curl
    3 minutes - adductor press
    3 minutes - lateral press
    3 minutes - leg press

    Even though I weighed in at 247 this morning I still feel great. My pants feel loose around my waist and I know for a fact that I have been trying hard.

    This weekend I have been pretty consistently weighing in at 245 (give or take a half pound either way). I think that 245 is going to be my weight this week so I have decided not to weigh myself until Friday.

    This week I have 8 hours of pickleball scheduled PLUS a tournament on Sunday (!) I am also committed to continuing with my strength training at least 4-5 of those days. So---I have a lot of exercise on the horizon. I need to focus on my protein, water and electrolytes to stay healthy and alert.

    On Friday morning it is my secret hope to weigh in at 243 (but my "official goal" is to weigh in at 244.

    As usual, I am falling behind in 3 things:-

    (1) work
    (2) reading
    (3) sleeping

    But I am succeeding in many others:-

    (1) daily lemon water
    (2) daily meditation
    (3) daily stretching
    (4) strength 4-5 times per week
    (5) 5-6 hours of pickleball
    (6) no alcohol
    (7) limited sweets or junk food

    I slept terribly -- woke up in the middle of the night and never went back to sleep. thanks phone! Sleep score was only 69. I meditated, stretched, put on makeup and did not weigh myself. I got to work early and had some hummus and peppers for breakfast.

    I fell asleep fast last night and slept until 1am then tried very hard to get myself back to sleep. My sleep score of 66 doesnt really reflect all of the sleep I got. I feel great and woke up a little late. Still managed to do my lemon water, meditation and stretching. got to work and there was PLENTY to do.

    I am proud of myself for getting up in the morning, having my lemon water, meditating and stretching. Sure - there is a lot that I can improve on but I am showing up and that is a big step.
