This will be a different Christmas day from most for us. We were going to go to Atlanta, about and hour drive Atlanta to spend Christmas and have dinner with DW's 89 yo cousin. She's been pretty ill and just was released from Emory hospital at 5:30 am yesterday and also had been in last weekend as well. We and anther cousin are her only family.
So I'm driving DW down to relieve the 24/7 sitter then I'll go back and get DW on this coming Sunday.
Atlanta traffic hopefully on Christmas day won't be as bad as it usually is.
DS and I will spend Christmas today without DW. Sad but we have to do what we have to do.1 -

So the original plan was for a family gathering in Boston, kind of a tradition for us. My recuperation from a cardiac procedure made that a bad choice for me although we were not sure till Friday if I was going to be able to do it or not. Once we made the announcement that I could not make the trip, I kind of begged everyone to go on with out me. Our daughter in Atlanta immediately changed their flight to fly in here on the 23rd. I tried to talk her out of it, and she told me "suck it up! You have people who love you!" Don't you just hate it when your adult children act more grown up then you! At any rate she and her intended arrived and took care of all the cooking and cleaning for us and it was an unexpected and delightful visit. They head back at lunch time today. Thank you to the almighty and to our daughter Nina and her intended Zack for making this a holiday to remember!1

My day was indeed like I proposed on Wednesday Christmas day. Took DW to Atlanta to relieve the sitter for her 89 yo cousin. Did go in and made a turn around and came back home only about an hour away both ways.
Warned up leftovers for dinner and called it a day.0
