    I agree with the premise of this
    article. BMI is a poor measure for individuals, but more for statistical analysis of populations. A better measure might be factors involved in Metabolic Syndrome.

    I’ve gotta agree with Tim in all aspects on this. BMI is an inappropriate measure, and Metabolic Syndrome might be a better way to go. Not crazy about the study's proposal; it sounds like you’re not obese until you’re sick.

    Honestly, even what the study’s proposal said about BMI was wrong (in my opinion). They said it’s a measure of whether you’re carrying too much weight, but it’s actually a measure of whether you’re carry more weight than expected for a (non-gendered) person of your height with a normal morbidity risk.

    I think I just tripped while trying not to step on my BMI soapbox . . . .
