ICE BREAKER QUESTION of the Week: Winter hats - do you wear one,
or do you prefer not to mess up your hair?
Lol... in my late teenage years until about my early 30's, there was no way I would do anything that would mess up my hair or make-up. Lol... it took a long time to get all fixed. Then came my biker days came, and omg... do you know what a helmet does to your hair? Boy, did I have to learn how to have half way decent hair when I took that helmet off and it took a while. Then came my buggy days, lol... I had to wear some type of hat, weather depending. Oohhh, my poor hair went through so much during my motorcycle & buggy days.
Now a days, I'm still not much of a hat wearing person, but I will if need be, but oh omg... myyy hair......2 -

Reminder To WEigh In Tomorrow To @FushiaKat and @TeresaW20240 -
@TeresaW2024 Thanks! I don't have a Vitamix but my neighbor does, I wish I did! You ARE doing great with all the stress you're under you've been rocking it! I hope the arthritis pen helps Joe. I'm glad he's also happy to be helping your niece and her kids.
@trooworld Hugs to you I know a husband that WILL NOT be getting a Kindle cover sheesh! That would hurt my feelings too.
@vegan4lyfe2012 I'm glad Amelia is home but sad to here she's in pain. I'll keep sending prayers and healing vibes her way. I think 80% is wonderful with all you have going on! Oh my gosh I can't imagine being out in that cold, yikes. I made a pot of cranberry vanilla tea so I'm getting my water in, don't you forget either!
@DrewsAnna Helmet hair isn't fun lol, I'm imagining you the first time you had it. I don't like the feeling of a hat on my head but since I'm outside a lot I'm trying to protect my hair color.
Hi friends! I was planning to go to the farm but it was too cold so I didn't and have been cleaning, rearranging my seed setup, and started some medicinal seeds. A lot need to be cold stratified so that stinks to find out now when I'd like to be starting them! Most exciting today is I have moranga tree seeds soaking, I'm going to see if I can take them to the greenhouse since they're harder to take care of. Tomorrow I'm getting my hair done followed by an allergy appt to renew my allergy shot treatment for another yeat. Have a great Tuesday!1 -

ICE BREAKER QUESTION of the Week: Winter hats - do you wear one,

I wear a hat, hood, or knitted headband during the winter when its cold enough (30 or so). I sweat a lot in my head and leaving the gym with the wind blowing is never fun in the cold.

Hey all! I am still here; I've just been super busy. I have 6 days left of the 21 Day Fix Extreme workout and my results have been really good. I plan on continuing with another Beachbody program similar to it while I have the membership because I doubt I will renew it. Whole30 is technically over but I have only added back a few things (beans, quinoa, stevia
). Those have been ok so far - no adverse reactions - but I am hesitant to add oats, soy, and wheat because I feel like one of those was my inflammation trigger in the first place. Though I will say right now that the aftertaste of stevia is so bad. I couldn't finish the drink it was in and I don't know that I would try it again soon.
@laurelfit57 - I missed your question. We are going to Cozumel again on a cruise. It’ll be my third time there.

Feeling good about staying within a pound of last week's weight after being sick. Not 100% yet, but feeling a lot better. No exercise last week, so I'm looking forward to working out this week.3 -
@vegan4lyfe2012 I'm so glad to hear that Amelia came home. I'm sorry to hear she is in pain. I'd say you must be doing pretty good with food to have that loss. Congrats! Thanks for the reminder about water!
@Katmary71 Exactly! LOL Thank you for the empathy. I hope your seeds work out okay. Good luck with the hair and allergy shot.
@AprilRaineyBattle Congrats on the loss and on the good results on the 21 Day Fix Extreme! I agree about the aftertaste of stevia but it's the only artificial sweetener that doesn't have a link to cancer in mice, so I try to bear it.
Hi all. I felt better yesterday (emotionally) but I had a killer migraine. Despite this, we went out for coffee and sat in the sun drinking it which was a total mistake. I ended up going home and taking a nap and felt better when I woke up. I finished my 2nd book sleeve. It came out pretty good. I didn't show my DH this one. After that, I met my DH downtown in Little Italy. We walked around and got more coffee and went into the art supply store. My watch did not accurately track my walking yesterday which ticks me off as I track my movement! Here are some pics of the new book sleeve (Front and back. The back has a pocket with a snap).

What’s one springtime goal you’re setting for your fitness or nutrition?
1 -
@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on your loss! And yayyy for Amelia coming home, but I’m so sorry she is in pain and not eating much. I will continue to pray for her healing and that she will start eating and thriving!
@Katmary71 When I type moranga, my autocorrect wants to do moringa. Is it the same or a different tree? Will you eat the leaves?
@trooworld Those Kindle covers are so cute!! And I don’t see a single flaw!I used to hate it when my tracker didn’t work. It’s like all those steps were for nothing!
Good morning! It’s a sunny day, which is good because I need to run to Aldi and the bank this morning. I wasn’t thrilled with my weight loss this week, but I will take it in light of how stressed out I’ve been. Five more days and we close on the house, and I can’t wait for it to be done. This will be the last time I do anything that needs Joe’s participation. It’s not fair to him or me, for that matter! Have a good day!
What’s one springtime goal you’re setting for your fitness or nutrition?
Getting back to lifting weights is my main goal. I did a little weightlifting the other day, and it hurt so bad I couldn’t sit down without major pain for two days! Consistent lifting would solve that problem.

What’s one springtime goal you’re setting for your fitness or nutrition?
My goals: my annual "walk the year " goal of walking 2025 miles this year, my spring-summer-autumn goal of 50 miles per week on the bicycle, and I will continue with my morning strength training workouts and my evening yoga practice. My nutrition goal is to prepare meals at home in the evening, mostly vegetarian.

@Katmary71 – I have been wanting a Vitamix for years! I have a Ninja, so I have to be satisfied with that for now. Does what I need it to do, which is mainly my mayo, sour cream and other sauces. I bought the larger cup for it, so I can blend up to 2 cups at a time. Did the cooking lesson recipes require a Vitamix or can you use a regular blender? That banana oat cake sounds yummy! Cranberry Vanilla tea sounds delightful!
@trooworld – I’m sorry your husband was so insensitive about the Kindle cover. I love it! Especially the fabric you chose – those doggies are so cute! I hate when my tracker doesn’t track ☹
@AprilRaineyBattle – Stevia is pretty potent…I use it so sparingly. A little dab’l do ya! Good luck adding oats, soy and wheat back in. I hope you’re able to figure out your trigger without too much discomfort.
@TeresaW2024 – So close to that house finish line! Hang in there!
Thank you everyone for the continue prayers for baby Amelia! As soon as I walked into my therapist’s office yesterday, I just felt all the stress melt away and I had my breakdown. I had really been keeping a lot pent up. I am feeling so much relief now. I have an appt this afternoon for my yearly physical and I am not looking forward to it. Saw my bloodwork test results already and my glucose was too high – into the prediabetic stage. Diabetes does not run in my family – only one other person had it (my grandmother’s sister). Totally weight related. There’s no question about it. I absolutely MUST lose this excess weight. It would also get my blood pressure back to normal. Thank you all for being here for me – I love and appreciate you!
What’s one springtime goal you’re setting for your fitness or nutrition?
To use the resistance bands consistently…at least 3 times per week is a good, reasonable start for me.
2025 is MY year!

Today is my Birthday. My husband gifted me Amazon Gift Cards and two crystal figurines. A mushroom with two ladybugs and a tiny owl with green leaves for feet, so cute. I'm going to ride my bike later; I need to swap out the batteries first. Hugs to everybody and prayers to those that need them. It has not been easy to stay in range, I want to eat more calories but I'm doing my best not too. I do not sleep well; I get up about 2:30 every morning and I have no idea why. I get my best sleep when I nap in the afternoons. Maybe this is just because I'm older now.2 -
WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE NOW: @littlebabekitty
Reminder To WEigh In Tomorrow To @DrewsAnna @lisalsa1230 -
@AprilRainyBattle Yay on the great results from 21 Day Fix! I hope you find another one you enjoy while you have Beachbody, I'd like to try it out one of these days. I'm glad adding things back in is going well so far. The nutritionist I work with thinks everyne should cut out oats, soy, and wheat because they're all inflammatory though I guess we really need to try each one to see if it is for us. That “too much stevia” taste is gross, I use it and love it in tea especially if it's stuff I've grown in leaf form but too much has a gross taste for sure. When do you leave for your cruise?
@bobboyardee That's real good for being sick way to go! I'm glad you're on your way to feeling better.
@trooworld Yikes I can't even imagine how bad you were feeling after drinking coffee in the sun, I'm glad the nap helped. Can I say how happy I am for you every time I see you say you've been walking around with your husband? Go Chris! That's the cutest fabric I love them!
WHAT'S ONE SPRINGTIME GOAL YOU'RE SETTING FOR YOUR FITNESS OR NUTRITION? I've started doing Leslie Sansone 1 mile videos, hoping to find a balance of what I can do. Still trying to get back on track but feeling resistant for some reason.
@TeresaW2024 It's moringa I was spelling it wrong. You can eat every part of it but is most grown for leaves, roots, and young pods. I'm glad the closing is near hugs to you on the stress you're under right now.
@vegan4lyfe2012 I'd love a Vitamix OR a Ninja! I'd think a Ninja could do what we were shown, the first recipe had bananas and oats then the second had frozen fruit so as long as yours could handle that you'd be fine. Funny the cranberry vanilla is a seasonal one that I didn't like before but I love it now so not sure why I didn't like it when I bought it. Aw I'm glad you were able to let loose with your therapist. I definitely want you to avoid diabetes and be able to decrease your blood pressure. You WILL get out of the prediabetic stage soon I know you can do it! Hugs thank YOU for being here for me/us too!
@txcritter69 That's ok glad to see you and good weigh in!
@FushiaKat Happy Birthday! Those figures sound adorable that's very thoughtful of your husband. You're doing amazing maintaining ESPECIALLY when you aren't getting steady sleep way to go!
Hi friends! Super long day I went for my hair appointment then the woman I work for sent an emergency text about something she needed to get out (I HAVE said I hate when everything is last minute and urgent but doesn't seem like that's changing anytime soon). I stopped by to see what she needed then went for my allergy appointment, went to the store, the pharmacy, then back and helped her for an hour to get out a bunch of text messages as a company we use for supplements merged with another company and she wanted to let everyone know. The two people I'm attempting to learn about mushrooms with keep going out-of-town or can't go for the next step so I'm getting pretty frustrated with them since we're told we need to come back in two weeks each time we do a step. I can't imagine what a pain actually growing them together will be geez! Have a great night and happy Wednesday.1 -

@vegan4lyfe2012 I’m so glad you could release stress with your therapist. I’ve never done any therapy but have often thought how helpful it would be if I did have someone I could unload on. I understand your urgency to get your weight under control before you are diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. It’s also one of the main reasons I am working hard to get mine off. We can do it!!
@FushiaKat Happy birthday!!
@Katmary71 Your day does sound long and frustrating. I hope today is better!
Good morning! There's not much happening today besides working out and doing a little housework. Joe has been requesting nachos, so I’m making loaded nachos for dinner. He is so happy!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Those pics were of the same cover, just front and back. Yeah, I hate it when the tracker is inacurrate. Exactly! LOL I'm sure the stress had something to do with your weigh-in. I'm sorry it's been so stressful.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you! I love that fabric, it came from my stash of fabric I forgot I had lol. Me too. I'm glad you were able to vent at the therapist's. I bet if you continue to lose weight, pre-diabetes will be a thing of the past. Love and appreciate you, too!
@txcritter69 Congrats on the loss!
@FushiaKat HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Sorry you aren't sleeping well.
@Katmary71 Oh, it was such a mistake to sit in the sun for coffee...I knew it as soon as I sat down. I was holding my hand up to shield my eyes and had my eyes closed. It was bad. Aww, thanks! Yay for doing Leslie videos!!! That's too bad about the "emergency" text. That would tick me off.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s one springtime goal you’re setting for your fitness or nutrition?
I'm really working on my water still. It is very important for me, after surgery, to not get dehydrated.
Hi all. I should clarify that those pictures were of the SAME book sleeve, one image was the front and one image was the back. I didn't take a pic of the first one (although that one is perfectly lovely as well). I've definitely got some sort of a cold. I've been blowing my nose constantly and occasionally coughing. I don't feel too horrible, hopefully I don't get to that point. It's just hard to sleep. I will go to work today. I don't know if I will stay all day or just leave early and work from home.

@TeresaW2024 Have a great workout and day around the house! Aw I'm glad Joe's looking forward to dinner so much very nice of you to make it for him.
@trooworld I hope this cold passes by you fast, hope you're able to go to bed early tonight too! I order a day in bed with the pups!
Hi friends! I made a pharmacy run this morning and worked out, was hoping to clean but having a tough time with the rain so I ended up in bed with the cats. I DID manage to get all of us together for the mushroom class Friday morning which I'm glad of especially since I'm being left out of the family event I'm more sensitive to including everyone! Tomorrow's a greenhouse day. Oh I got my printer working again thank goodness, I think two of the cartridges I tried were out of toner so I wasn't sure it was my printer's issue. I found another new one and ordered 2 from Amazon so I'm good with printer cartridges for quite awhile! Have a great Thursday.0 -
@Cornanda Thank you!
@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss!
@Katmary71 Thank you, me too! I went to bed early-ish and got enough sleep. Thank you, I wish I could stay home with them lol. I'm glad you took care of yourself yesterday and got in bed with the cats. I hope the mushroom class goes well tomorrow and the greenhouse day goes well today!
HI all. I'm doing okay but I had a coughing fit at work yesterday that, I'm not kidding, lasted about 7 minutes. One of my coworkers came into my office from hers to see if she needed to do the Heimlich on me lol. It was that bad. I tried drinking water and that didn't stop it, it was like a tickle in my throat. Finally, I sucked on a cough drop and that helped.

@Cornanda Thank you!
@Katmary71 I’m glad you will be able to do the mushroom class. I’ve been looking at printers for home. Mine is old, and since I work so much from home, I would like something where the ink lasts a little longer. Plus, my current one is black, and I want a white one since it sits in my bedroom. Aesthetics is everything you know!Hey, have you done any research on Nitric Oxide supplements? I watched this guy on the news who wrote a book on how important it is to our bodies. So, I bought a supplement and will give it a try! It is supposed to help with energy and give us better workouts.
@trooworld Uggh, I hate those coughing fits due to a tickle in the throat. I hope you feel better today!
Good morning! Last night, I made the nachos, and my Joe ate so much that he told me it was the best Mexican he had ever had. It doesn’t take much these days to make him happy.My bestie is coming this afternoon for coffee, so that will be nice.

@trooworld Thank you! Ugh that IS an awful coughing fit I'm glad the cough drop helped some. Are you working from home tomorrow or do you have to go in?
@TeresaW2024 Thanks! Hm I was looking into printers for Yvonne, she prints A TON of stuff and I want her to get a Tank printer because it holds way more ink and the price of a regular printer versus that is 500 color pages to 3000-5000 pages and the ink is cheaper than cartridges. They're boxier because of holding more ink though. Nitric acid I know a little about, seems like anyone older could benefit from it! I had a practitioner send me a 3 hour lecture on how it could help CRPS but when I was investigating it I was looking into my ex-boyfriend's situation with blood clots due to having less red blood cells and it sounded pretty promising to increase blood flow but he was resistant to trying anything. Let us know how it goes! A friend of mine is taking it because of health issues after the Covid shot was given and she's feeling better with it. Aw I'm SO glad you have a happy loving Joe and not the anger that can happen. Have fun with the bestie!
Hi friends! Greenhouse went well, we started a bunch of lettuce and I transplanted some double cell plants so they could live and not be thinned. I just went through the testing I need to have, two x-ray orders and labs next week so that'll take up my day off. I've been back on track ( @Cornanda I'm getting there!) the last couple days, little nervous about my weigh-in tomorrow but I'll face it and keep looking forward. I made sweet potatoes and salsa chicken in the Instant Pot and have a bunch of garden greens so I'm going to make a bowl for dinner after I take a bath. Have a great Friday.0
