Love my George Foreman

Many of us over 60 are on a weight loss journey on our own. We may be married or have a partner to support us, but those people are on the periphery. They aren't cooking meals for us that are low calorie, low carbohydrate, low fat, low sugar. Our significant others may mean well, but they aren't "on the program." Sorry, it sounds like I'm writing about a 12-step program.
In 2023 I asked my family for one present. It wasn't a big thing. At least I didn't think so at the time. I asked for a panini maker. You see, I love sandwiches, and a panini maker meant I could have a hot sandwich almost any time I wanted. My wife bought me a George Foreman grill. I didn't realize what a game-changer this little device would be. Not only can I make sandwiches, but burgers and grilled chicken breast are a snap.
When I went on my new food regimen, I didn't know how easy it would be to augment my meals with a strip of bacon, or a grilled chicken tender. Now, salads are fun. It's like going to the restaurant and having a meal out. Bowl of soup and a salad with grilled chicken? No problem, just drag out the Foreman grill. It's ready in 3 minutes. Butterfly a chicken breast, put it on the grill, cook it in 10 minutes, use half for salad today and the rest later in the week. Cup of soup and a grilled chicken sandwich? BAM! Ready in 15 minutes with the Foreman Grill. Add a little lettuce and a slice of tomato on a ciabatta role and you have a 375 calorie lunch.
Be creative. If you have a recipe idea, put it into the recipe calculator on the food diary page. Tweak your recipes to make you meal ideas to meet your dietary goals and turn those ideas into delicious lunches and dinners.
Until next time, JUICE to you all!
