I'm iffy about putting links to things to purchase. So please consider that linking items is to be able to discuss and show something that you like, enjoy and use that works for you. It is not a push for a person to buy that item nor will anyone be responsible for the item that is purchased by someone else. We are all adults here and responsible for ourselves. I do believe that other peoples experiences can help us improve our own lives and that is the point of this thread.

I purchased this back in June of 2011. I am amazed that it still has a working link. My bed at my mother's house is really high off the ground and I would have had extreme difficulty getting in it. My mother was in a hgtv kick and forced me to remodel my room so I wanted something sturdy, tall enough and flexible.
This stool requires assembly. But the bottom steps flip up under the top steps and it is a comfortable height to sit on. Mine did get broken. Half of the top step is loose. Though i didn't live at home when it got broken so I have no idea how it happened. It doesn't affect it's usability. You just can't pick it up from the top step anymore. This isn't a problem as I and other guests will still need assistance go get into that high bed while staying at my mother's.

Sock aid and shoe horn
I purchased something similar back in 2015. It was 3 times more expensive at the time. I don't have hip sockets which makes it near impossible for me to touch my feet. When I was younger I could grab my left foot and pull it over my right knee and i could put my right foot behind me and lean backwards to get my socks on. But I lost flexibility as I got older. I am not fond of wearing socks but this is probably the best device that I have ever owned. I would not be able to put my socks on with out it. There are versions that are on the end of ropes. I have no tried those. I like that you can put your socks on this, put it on the floor and slide your feet in.

I bought one of these back in 2015 as a shower stool. I didn't need a stool consistently back then but if I was having a bad day and needed a shower it was good to have. I had owned a shower seat before that was plastic and metal. It always creeped me out because water got inside the seat. I wanted something that could hold up. 10 years later it's got a little wear but it is still solid.0 -
Not one I have, but I am thinking about getting a walking pad. Thought I could use it in the evening when hubby and I are watching TV. Does anyone have one? Would love some thoughts on it.0

I have one. Book bought one though i think collage swallowed her up. The one I bought had a remote that you could use to turn it on and off. I looked it up on amazon and the brand I bought doesn't have anything available so I'm not going to link it.
The only caution I have is that if you are unsteady on your feet, then you will need to place it next to something that you can steady yourself with. I had mine next to a giant bookshelf so getting on and off if it was still running wasn't an issue. I wasn't a heavy user. So if you are walking miles a day you will likely need to oil it more often. However if you can't walk for long distances, like me... it is good so that you can take shorter walks more often.
I just got lazy. i do want to get a bit more weight off before using it again. plus I would need a more permanent home. when I moved out of my mom's house, she went through my room and moved EVERYFREAKINGTHING. My brain short circuits every time I think about going to find something. So until I move into a permanent place, walking will not be part of my exercise routine
If you are unsteady on your feet and can afford it. I would recommend a treadmill but since you seem to do meetings I think this and a standing desk could work.0 -
Thanks @totameafox for the input. I do a lot of indoor walking exercises in the winter. Too cold/icy/snowy to walk outside. And use a standing desk. Like the idea of a pad so when I am watching TV with hubby at night, I can get some steps, instead of sitting on my butt. Like I am now, lol. I will make a note about the stability.0

Don't have one, but unsure. I did not enjoy treadmill nor bike. I like tge online walking and exercise vids, find it helpful to follow an upbeat leader.
Considering a peddlar for when i'm doing paperwork at desk. Just get stiff too soon and wondered if that could help.0 -
Right there with you @yakkystuff on preferring the videos. I use the Walk at Home app/website mostly. Was thinking about the time when I am just watching TV to get some extra steps. Not a treadmill fan and they are so bulky. But not sure I want to spend the money. Maybe I'll check Marketplace in a few weeks to see if people hit them over the holidays and aren't using them anymore 🤔0

Oh, that's an idea.
Have heard some people enjoy some of the video game exercise, such as their oculous? I think there, it might be the interactive factor0 -
I was contemplating getting a walking pad too, but I have just been bundling up and walking in the cold. However, if it's a bad storm or rainy I ride my stationary bike (which I hate). The bike itself is fine, I just don't like riding stationary bike.0

I use a Fitbit for tracking steps and workouts. It came with a free 6-month subscription to their premier package which has a lot of workout videos. I use the videos for my strength training.1

Given the nature of my condition, there is rarely a time when I am not in pain. For a long while I was having issues with my neck. I already knew that stretching would help with that but you know... knowing and doing... not the same thing so I bough this
heating pads are wonderful for aches and pains but the normal ones don't fit to well around the neck and I hate the microwave ones. I have a different one but being fat... it feels like it chokes me. So I found this one. And it's awesome.
But now that I stretch my neck hasn't been hurting. Enter my right hand. It feels like someone is stabbing it when I over use it (which doesn't take much atm) so I've been using this as a wrap/wrist rest while using my computer and it's awesome.

The neck wrap looks amazing!
I use a velcro adjustable wrist brace metal rod when that kind of pain hits. I was surprised doc suggested to wear during sleep.
Antiseptic / Antimicrobial Skin Cleanser
- works best for me instead of soap.
- Prices vary wildly... worth the comparison shop (comes in various sizes. I like the pump for use.)
- It foams.
- I dilute 50% and have as effective cleansing.
- Does permanently stain wash cloths. So... important to rinse off skin well to prevent staining clothes.0
