I have been setting weekly mini goals for myself. As an added accountability measure, I will post my goals and results here. If you want, feel free to join in!
Last week's mini goal: avoid eating after 8 pm. I met my goal on 6 of 7 days. My miss was a small one - a handful of peanut M&Ms - but it was also a completely absent-minded splurge. I'm taking this as a lesson about being on auto-pilot versus being more thoughtful about what I eat.
This week's mini goal: no salty snacks

I love the idea of a mini-goal each week. I'm a big believer in "a little focus leads to more focus."

I spent a lot of time working on projects where the budgets and due dates were set by executives based on a mix of their bonus plans and then ”if we don’t beat them, they won’t work” theory. So I’m not one for goals, as they seem too binary for me. Instead, I may set a longer-term intention of direction, but not a specific date or number. It’s more “fixin' to think about it” in that regard.3

My insurance will only pay for a limited number of visits with a dietitian. I recently joined a group called Nourished By Science to continue to get solid nutritional advice. They have weekly assignments.2
