Yay! It sure is motivating when I see the numbers move downward. On top of that, I'm noticing my pants are fitting better, I'm not as bloated all the time and my mood is mostly better lol
I think I might have to get rid of 1 of my goals. The food tracking really just isn't for me. It's making it seem like too much work and then I get upset with myself if I don't track. I typically eat a lot of salads and bowls, but I put a bunch of stuff in them and it's random depending on what's in my fridge. Leftover brown rice, meat, nuts, pickles, various veggies. It's not unheard of if I have 20 different things in a salad/bowl, so it's tedious to track. I'm still going to be mindfully eating, which seems to be working for me. My main focus is to keep my protein and fiber consumption high.
I'm still going to focus on tracking my water intake and getting my 10k steps in for now. Although, at some point, I may need to switch from step tracking to doing other workouts instead. I need to add weights in, but I find I don't have enough time after work to do that on top of already doing the treadmill at 445am. So I might, on occasion, do weights instead of walking. We'll see.
House goes on the market on March 4. Coming to market sign should be up soon. Exciting times for sure.
We didn't end up going to the cabin last weekend, as we're still in the middle of a deep freeze here. (-40F to -58F with the wind) So, we're going this weekend instead for 1 night.
Sheesh - Glad to hear you're mostly back to feeling normal. The low grade fever at night is a bit concerning, so hopefully that has worked itself out. Your body is telling you something for sure. Maybe it's just sick of winter? lol And you definitely don't have to apologize for your country's president but it's nice to know he doesn't speak for you. I don't judge any Americans for his decisions... as they are just his. I'm just hoping that whatever decisions he makes, doesn't hurt others too badly. I do sense that something bad is coming though.
Lois - Hope that back of yours is improving! Man.. I'd love a split king. That might be our next bed when we need one. I'm assuming this helps with snoring too? My husband and I have a hard time sleeping in the same bed as each other lately as his snoring has gotten so bad. Plus he's a heavy sleeper, where I'm a super light sleeper and he's a night owl and I'm a morning person.
Sarah - Hope your week is going well. That's cute that you and hubby ended up getting each other the same valentine
I'll check back later to see how everyone is doing.

I continue to reduce at a very slow rate. I'll take it, although I think it's still a bit of not wanting to eat certain things, and having less of an appetite. I had my trainer Monday, walked on Tuesday, had a golf lesson and practice today, and will have my trainer again tomorrow. I still get tired in the evening, and usually end up taking Tylenol, but I'm gradually feeling better. My Cali family is in town. They've gone skiing (the kids into ski school) yesterday and today. They are a great help, and easy to have around, although the 6 and 8 year old boys are very active. The 12 yo girl is a delight . . so girly and starting to wear a little make-up.I'm enjoying their visit, and hubby helped out today by making his chili . . about the only thing he makes, lol. I'll make the corn bread muffins. Our daughter here is coming with her girls to eat and visit. Tomorrow after skiing we'll have an early birthday party for the 7 yo (almost 8). Friday, we are going to "KidsTopia" with everyone, including grands here.
Wow, Kelly, you are doing soooo great! You've hit your groove for sure! Good for you. I don't log food much anymore, especially "recipes" with lots of ingredients. Over the years I've gotten to know the approximate serving sizes and calories I'm getting, probably from so much logging and calculating for a long time. But, every now and then I know I have to get back to logging to make sure I haven't enlarged my portions. I think it's a great idea to log water. I have 16 oz glasses, and a 32 oz water bottle . . I try to drink 16 oz every quarter on the clock . . 16 oz before 9 am, 16 oz before noon, 16 oz before 3 and 16 oz before 6 pm.
I highly recommend a split king bed! We have a sleep number bed. I like my side pretty soft and my head elevated a bit. There is a setting called "partner snore" where I can put his side up a little to stop the snoring,! I had to chuckle at your comment about being opposite Shawn with habits . . opposites attract and my hubby is opposite me in so many ways too.
Lois, I hope you're getting to PT and that you're feeling better. I'm sure your new bed will help.
Sarah, I'm so exited for you to get to the end of the week! Hopefully you're still not having many side effects from the treatments. I'm sure you're getting your steps as you can. . Dedication is your middle name!
Well, I'm off to make corn bread muffins.

WOW Kelly - Great progress. And I just can't imagine those temps. We're already warming up. high 70's this week and supposed to be 80s next week. We're going to be in the 100s before too long - YUCK
I'm loving our split king - and I have the firm side and hubby's is a bit softer. Part of me thinks I might should have gone with the sleep number bed ilo the Costco version (now they have the foot raising one too, not just the head). Kelly - you and Shawn are like me and Seg. I'm more a morning person and he's a night owl (bed between 2 & 3am) and I'm up at 630 or so (because I've been staying up later attempting to see him before sleeping). I have sleep apnea so I have a cpap machine. Hubby did the test in December, and he had his follow up appt today and they're ordering a cpap for him as well. So fun. Lots of distilled water will be needed here and when we go to Disneyland...haha. But the snoring will be reduced. The one downside of the split king is when you have to make the bed, it is two twin XL mattresses, so similar to making a bed that is in a corner on both sides. Hubby has to help with this while my back is acting up. I did my side, but he had to come up and do his side. I rotate two sets of sheets, so I always have a clean set to put on while laundering the ones being removed. I am not disappointed at bedtime that I still need to make the bed...lol. I strip, then remake immediately.
I did my two PT sessions this week - Tuesday and this morning. I am feeling a bit better. Hoping it keeps improving. Also scheduled for Tues/Fri next week.
I am tracking my food. Unlike you ladies, I actually get in my water intake...Yay - I'm a superstar at something. LOL ... Activity just waiting until I feel better before adding more to my days. I have Rhea babysitting this Saturday and lunch with our grandson on Sunday for his belated birthday (he wants sushi - yum).
I have no idea on my weight as hubby keeps overriding my numbers (he often forgets to switch users). I feel like I'm holding, not really going up/down. I'll be adding another fiber gummy daily tomorrow. See how my tummy feels in the next couple of days.

Sorry to be late to the party again. I did weigh yesterday but didn't have time to get online before my drive to treatment, and the fatigue they keep warning me about really hit me yesterday afternoon.
This has been a diffent kind of week for me. Monday, I had my last treatment of the entire breast (they started the targeted treatment on Tuesday). Everything seemed normal and I got my walk in afterward at the mall. But then after I got home, I noticed something that I thought was one of the stickers they use to know where to aim. I thought it was coming loose and pricking me. But when I looked, that was not the case. Instead there was a very large, fluid filled blister under one of the stickers! And by bedtime, there were two more. All were under stickers and they were huge and boy did they hurt.
I sent a message to my nurse navigator Tuesday morning, and she said my doc was not going to be at that location that day, but another doc would see me. Well, that doc was just amazed. Said she'd never seen this happen before, so she took some pictures with a special camera and sent them to my doc who was at the main hospital in Baltimore. Then the two docs conferred by phone and they decided that this is probably some type of allergic reaction, perhaps caused by the effect of the radiation on the sticky stuff that is on the clear round disks they draw on and that I call the stickers! Anyway, they think they will eventually go away but sent me in a prescription for something to put on them once the fluid goes away to prevent infection. However, as of today, they seem to drain but then fill up with fluid again, so my doc checked them and suggested an OTC med that may help dry them. But the CVS I stopped at was out of that med, and so I will have to go to different one tomorrow. I just ran out of time and energy today because I spent a huge chunk of the afternoon getting everything I needed to make a large fruit bowl to take for the staff tomorrow. It's my last treatment and these people have been just wonderful, so I wanted to do something to say "thank you." And I didn't know this until today, but I actually will see them again next Thursday, because the doc wants to take another look at these blisters.
So painful skin reactions and little energy, but at least as of tomorrow, treatment is finished. What a trip this has been.
Kelly, you are doing amazing. I hope you continue to take time for yourself. Concerning logging, I log my food, but I know I'm not 100% accurate. I still think it helps. But whatever you're doing seems to be working, and that's what counts in the end.
Sheesh, sounds like you are having a great time with the visiting family and that you're planning things so that you are not exhausting yourself. And you are back in the 120's!
Lois, I'm glad to hear that PT is giving you some relief and yeah to you for continuing to log your food. At the end of the day, I think intake is the key.
Well, hubby just got back with some Pho for dinner, so I have to run. Here are my 7-day averages, which are down a bit. I took a break on Saturday and did not walk in the mall or on the treadmill. I just rested.
Steps = 9,843
Kcals burned = 1,6690 -
Oh Sarah - so sad to hear of the reactions. Just when we all thought the treatments were going so well. Hopefully you'll find relief and an answer as to why.
Sheesh - hopefully you got some slope time with the kids and grandkids as well. I miss skiing. Enjoy the time you have with them.
Some good news. My friend who had undergone that major surgery is home and recovering. She called yesterday to let me know she was doing well and recovering.
I'm so happy today is Friday. I need this week to be over... lol

Lois, I am so glad to hear that you friend is doing well.
Hubby confessed today that he went online and did some research and apparently these blisters are radiation burns. He thinks the staff did not want to say that because I still had treatments to go and because it is rare that they occurred only under those stickers. Regardless, they're painful and I now have to deal with them while they and the folliculitis heal. But at least I'm in the healing part now and I escaped without nausea, which had been my biggest fear. And the time I spent making the fruit bowl was time well spent. The staff just loved it.
And yea for Friday! I think everyone is ready for a weekend. Sheesh, hope you continue to enjoy the visiting family, and Kelly, I hope that you get a chance to kick back some, too. Lois, don't overdo with Miss Rhea and enjoy your time with the birthday boy.0
