Do you still default to those foods or love to eat those foods? Or have you moved on to newer different cuisines or foods.

Spent the first 60 years of my life in Northern NJ, it was all about Italian, No matter if it was the neighborhood Pizza joint, the local mob hang out, or a high end 5 star eatery, Italian was dominant. Even the diners would have about 25% of their menus being Italian!

I think my intake is pretty random and it's hard to really think of particular "cuisine" that was regional (I grew up in central Jersey).

New England "cuisine", and a lot of post WW2 foods.

I grew up in Texas, and my mom was a farmer's daughter. So, a lot of beef, chicken, and pork. My mom made a lot poor people's farmer food. I still make her pinto beans, just without the pork.

TexMex was a very important cuisine of my youth. I probably eat more Mexican cuisine than anything else, modified to be more health friendly.

I've stopped eating meat, but I used to have a chicken fried steak at least once a year.

    Meals growing up. Meat+potato+vegetable

    Special occasions +add canned fruit

Meat list: Chicken, Ground beef, Pork
Potato list (russet): Boiled. Pan fried. Mashed with gravy.
    Vegetable list: Corn, Green beans
    Canned fruit: Peaches or Pears.

Now a days… I rarely eat a potato. Mom still makes them for family gatherings. Oh -sometimes …like a holiday, its scalloped potatoes.

Meat and potatoes diet with a side of vegetables and iceberg lettuce salad. Fruit cocktail for dessert. I don’t eat that way anymore. Less meat, more vegetables.
