    @nancyinmiami I definitely heard that!

    So, I have been very stressed and depressed due to a lot of things currently happening in my life. So I ended up mainlining the last of the Girl Scout cookies. Needless to say, my weight suffered this week… Oh, @frankwbrown I should start counting my steps Sunday to join, right? My last Fitbit band broke, and the new one won't arrive til Saturday.

    @nancyinmiami I have not yet read The Nightingale, but I see @DaffyGirl88 has given it high marks 🥰 I will put it on my list. I really loved The Great Alone also. Her characters are so intriguing.

    And thank you for your kind words 💕

    Everyone, meet Goose 💜

    IMG_5546.jpeg

    Goose is my daughter’s 3 year old cat who will be hanging with me for awhile. Allow me to vent for a moment lol: I absolutely adore my daughter (now 23) and she has become my bestie. She’s always been a good kid: never did drugs, doesn’t drink, never came home with loser boyfriends lol, but sometimes doesn’t make the wisest of decisions (now that I think about it, the decisions I made at 23 were a million times worse 😂). So she and her boyfriend adopted a 60 lb puppy, and…surprise…training him is a handful. And it’s not a love connection between the cat and the dog. So Goose (who stayed with us during her last semester of college) is back in Miami. I love this cat and spoil him rotten. Will he be here a month? The summer? Forever? Nobody knows. All I know is I’m loving having this cuddly baby around (and I already ordered a pet stroller and a million toys for him). He’s very happy. I’m very happy. I think I have a cat 😂

    I hovered around 192.0 all week until this morning! Figures! 😂

    Knees have been bothersome so I haven’t been out walking the past couple days. My pace has really slowed so I hope I can get that back up. And now we have entered rainy season so that makes it even more challenging.

    Please excuse me for the next two weigh-ins. We are flying to Washington DC to see our son and his partner for a few days, then as soon as we get back, we’re heading down to Houston for a few days to officially meet our daughter’s boyfriend. Should be back in town for a while after that.

    @nancyinmiami I had similar experiences with both a niece of mine (from whom I "adopted" Katrina) and a nephew of mine (from whom I "adopted" Tiger). 😂

    @nancyinmiami great to meet Goose. Had a similar situation with my daughter, she graduated from college, had no job, and immediately went and adopted a dog. Guess who was taking him to the emergency vet at 4:00am the following Sunday? It all turned out ok, he was a sweetheart and lived another 14 years. You just wonder what they're thinking sometimes. Enjoy your grand-kitty

    I forgot to weigh in this morning. A lady was pulled off the med cart for making multiple mistakes so they asked me to cover her shifts for a week since there is a limited number of med techs. I didn't realize at the time I would be working 5 over nights in 6 days was 6 but someone offered to take one of them. I have hardly slept at all in 5 days. I calculate about 9 hours of sleep total since Sunday morning. Last night was my last one but I'm so sleep deprived I forgot it was Friday. I will weigh in in the morning, sorry

    @nancyinmiami , congratulations! Good to see the cat distribution system is hard at work. I have a cuddly Void too, he's my darling (and doesn't get along well with my 35 lb. dog who was here before him sometimes).

    Sorry for being so quiet, an unusually violent storm ripped thru my city earlier this week. The city as a whole is still picking up the pieces, which is almost unheard of. 250,000 people got their power back (including me), but they're still working on the last 75,000. The outages were pretty erratic, so traffic is a mess all over the area due to powerless traffic lights and businesses being closed.

    The replacement band for my Fitbit arrived, so I will start posting my steps!
