Good morning! I almost forgot to check in again. Congrats to us for finishing in second place on the Leaderboard! 🤩Not much happening today. I just completed a hard tricep and back workout, and today plans to work on the information for our next leadership meeting this Sunday at the church. Right now it's time for lunch because I'm starving!! 🙂

@trooworld – Now I’ve gotta make it to the store to GET a pineapple! So glad your oranges are worth peeling – I feel the same way! Yay for an awesome NSV! Sorry your pants shopping wasn’t successful, but at least you know what to expect from your favorite brand. The book crawl sounds fun, but I totally understand about too many people. That usually stops me from doing a lot of activities. Sounds like you’ll be living and breathing art for quite a bit. Have fun with the photography today!

@TeresaW2024 – Glad everyone knows your BIL is an idiot. Ugh. What a mess. I feel so bad for your niece. Not trying to pry, but is it possible that she feels she can’t say no to people? Just thinking about the past abusive relationship. People get worn down and victimized and don’t feel confident enough to stand firm for themselves. She’s in my thoughts and prayers.

@micaroo4 – I’d go insane with all that hullabaloo. Glad it’s all done now. I hope you and Rich feel better soon.

@Katmary71 – The balloons sound like a fun mystery! I’m curious about where they came from, too. If you ever find out, please let us know.

@19shmoo69 – How awesome that you have been running! Patooie on the people that passed you. Slow and steady, Mr. Tortoise! Glad to hear your ribs are healed. In the app, tap the "more" button at the bottom that has 3 dots over it. Then scroll down to "community". Then at the top left, tap the 3 lines beside "myfitnesspal", then tap "quick links". Then you can see your bookmarks, groups, etc.

Congrats to our team winners - @19shmoo69 @digger61 & @bethanie0825 – and to everyone else that saw a loss, no matter how big or small! Hugs to those struggling right now. Your breakthrough will come!

I cracked myself up this morning when it was time for me to weigh myself. I said, “Please, Lord. Let me have a loss…even if it’s only 0.2 pounds!” And guess what my loss was…no one will ever convince me that God doesn’t have a sense of humor.

Yesterday our church had an Easter breakfast potluck. I usually don’t go to potlucks since there’s never anything vegan (except maybe fruit). My mom wanted to go, so we did. I made my oatmeal and took it in a little mason jar. A fellow parishioner excitedly told me she made vegan banana blueberry muffins – even used applesauce instead of oil! AND they were the mini-muffin size! I happily enjoyed 2 of those little muffins with my oatmeal. It was so sweet of her to do that just for me. I’ll be making her a blueberry banana themed thank you card.

Today is my mother’s 82nd Birthday. It’s the one time a year I play a game of Skip-Bo with her. I hate the game, but she loves it. She reminded me this morning that she gets her annual game with me today. So I’ll head over to her place this afternoon (leaving work early) for the game. Then to dinner and a margarita (she always wants margaritas). My girls and families should be joining us for dinner. After that, Hunter and I are taking her to the movies for the Summer Preview Experience. They show all the trailers of the upcoming movies and there’s giveaways. I went to the Fall one last year by myself (my friend bowed out at the last minute) and had fun, so it will be even more fun with them. She loves collectible bears, so I got her sweet matching boy and girl bears. I also got her a tin of tea – Coconut Truffle. Tastes like a Mounds candy bar. I know the gifts will make her smile.

I hope everyone has a great Monday! Don’t forget to hydrate!

    Mantra: 2025 is MY year!

Anyone game to try this with me? Of course first you have to make time to listen to an hour (or half if you put it on double speed like I do).

The Science-Backed Checklist for a Better Week- Take Control of Your Time and Energy

    1. Do a Brain Dump (we can do this in group or privately)
    2. Free Yourself
    3. Set One Priority
    4. Plan One Meal
    5. Schedule 1 workout
    6. Plan Time To Rest
    7. Connect With Someone

We could start on the 1st or next Monday, let me know what you think! @AustinRuadhain bet you'd like this one!

@vegan4lyfe2012 thanks!! I also have issues with potluck meals and our fellowship have them every service. Of course you know I’m in the opposite spectrum since I only eat meat. While I’m chatting with you… could do I get you to do a mommy’s day card?

@Katmary71 I’ll get a whirl…..no promises. Just help me remember to pay attention to the agenda.

@txcritter69 Way to go on the weigh in! I hope the side effects of Wegovy calm down for you.

@trooworld I’m laughing because I’d be stressed in a crowded bookstore too, that stinks they were so crowded but I’m glad you had fun. Oh I hope you love your new clothes I’m excited for you! It’s weird seeing yourself a different size isn’t it? But in a good way! What a fun day hope you have a blast today. The books look fun!

CONGRATULATIONS MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES IN 2ND PLACE! @19shmoo69 Great job leading the pack! @Digger61 @bethanie0825 awesome job team winners!

Hi friends! Did some cleaning and froze a bunch of greens from the garden after blanching them, trying to get through the garden greens but there’s A LOT so hoping freezing them will help me free up space for summer veggies. My Dad and I postponed working on the watering system at my community garden beds due to the rain and will do it in a few days. I have a rheumatology appointment in Sacramento tomorrow

    Hi 👋

I'm back 😀 we extended our stay and camped till Sunday. We hadn't had our "new to us" trailer out yet, so we took take her out for a trial run and work the "bugs" out. Lol… the water pump broke in the trailer, so hubby got that fixed. The rest of the trip was great. I am pretty wore out, so I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Yall have a great evening 😊

Hi all, for the end of the month do we all weigh in on April 30?

I’m heading away for a girls trip cycling on that day so prefer to weigh in then rather than use different scales (if there are any available). I haven’t done great this month (down 2lbs to date) but hoping May will be my month to really make a difference!

    Hi there!

I am poking along this month, not setting the world on fire, but making sure things are headed in a better direction. Down from last week, so calling the week a win!

@Katmary71 - I love the reset idea! My first thought is next Monday, but if you want to go for the first, I will squeeze this in faster. I am super excited!

    ***

I just watched the first bit of the video. Still excited but I can't spend the time on it tonight. I have put it in my calendar for Wednesday, so if we get started on the 1st, I will know what I am doing. Whee!

@vegan4lyfe2012 - Hi there! I realized I lost track of your question about Scouts. I work with a Boy Troop in Scouting America (formerly Scouts BSA aka Boy Scouts). Scout troops have youth from late 5th grade through 12th grade (age 18), with new kids joining each year. Our troop currently leans young, so more in the 11-15 range. (There was a dip due to COVID. Boys who want to do Scouting do not want to do it via Zoom.) I am a Committee Chair, an adult in charge of herding all the adult volunteers, and was owner of that particular campout. It was a lot of work and I think I am still catching up a bit!

@Cornanda - Thank you for the reminder that poking along is a win! I will work harder on this in a couple more weeks, but I keep reminding myself that I generally either gain or lose. If I can just nudge things mostly in the right direction for now, it is all good. And I am looking forward to more work on fitness starting in 2 more weeks!

@19shmoo69 I haven't noticed any issues. But then again, I only track in it.

@TeresaW2024 Have a good Tuesday! It's kind of nice nothing is happening, that means there's no drama! Lol Congrats on the loss!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yes! Get that pineapple lol. Thank you! I was able to find some really cool things on the website so it's all good. I'd rather order on the website and return the stuff I don't want vs. trying on things at the store. :) Yes, lots of art activities. I did have fun! Ha, well congrats on the loss...a loss is a loss! How nice that the fellow parishioner made something vegan. Is she vegan or just made them for you? That was kind. Happy birthday to your mom! Margaritas are always a good time. :) That theater event sounds fun. Sounds like your mom was spoiled, that's great!

@BobBoyardee Do tell us more about the mystery man! :)

@Katmary71 Oh gosh yes, I had to wait in line at one bookstore to checkout, the line took about 25 minutes! It is weird seeing myself in a different size. Thanks, I did have fun! How nice to have a freezer full of greens from your garden. I hope the appt goes well. I'll try to watch the video today while working but no promises I'll participate, gotta see what it's about!

@kerritho Just weigh in on your normal day. If you prefer that day, maybe @Katmary71 can chime in and tell you if that's okay.

    @AustinRuadhain Congrats on the loss!

Hi all. I had a great time yesterday. We spent about 2 hours walking the coast, taking pictures. I'll post a few. Then, we went to a Mexican restaurant and had fancy tacos: I had a quesobirria taco (made of beef) and a filet mignon taco. They were small and I only ate half of the filet mignon taco. Delicious but they were expensive for what they were ($12 each!). After that, I was originally going to drop off my new friend and go to a coffee shop and make art but I changed my mind because I had the beginnings of a headache. I came home and took a nap. I woke up and the headache became a migraine. I still have it today but I have to go to work regardless.

    Tracked yesterday? NO

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yes my niece does have a problem saying no, but her letting her dad drive the car wasn’t a matter of saying no it was to save money. She likes him working full-time because she gets all his money, and having him take Ubers is costly. He is adjusting his work schedule to match hers, so she will now take and pick him up most days. But yeah, it’s a hot mess! 🙄 How sweet of that church lady to make vegan muffins. I love thoughtful people! Happy birthday to your mom, and I hope you let her win Skip-Bo and that she enjoys her margaritas and family dinner.  🙂

@Katmary71, I'm all about a reset because my weight is barely moving, and I need something that will help me move faster in the right direction. I have the podcast saved and will listen today or tomorrow.  I vote to start on Monday, May 5th, so more of us might have time to listen to the podcast.  🤗

@trooworld Sorry to hear you're having another migraine! I hope it goes away today. Fancy tacos are always expensive, but they're certainly tasty! Great pictures!!  🙂

Good morning! So my good news of the day is that my nephew and his girlfriend moved out of my niece’s house yesterday. They are staying in an extended-stay hotel until they figure out their lives. I’m certainly praying they make a life for themselves and not cause any drama for this family. I’ve been missing my little great-nieces so much that today, when Joe is napping, I’m going over for a play date. For dinner, I’m making an easy beef and mushroom noodle dish that should be tasty. 🙂

@19shmoo69 – Potlucks every Sunday? That’s stressful. And yes, I can make a card for you. I’ll send you a PM with some options.

@AustinRuadhain – That is quite the age range! Hopefully the more seasoned boys help out the younger ones. Herding the adults is probably more time-consuming that the kids hahahaha What an awesome mentoring program. My son started with the Webelos, but the troop only had 3 other boys and he didn’t really enjoy their company. I didn’t push him to continue. He found his tribe with baseball. So glad there’s people out there still going strong with Scouts, tho!

@trooworld – My friend at church is not vegan, but she’s one of those people that really pays attention to things. She said it wasn’t fair that no one brings anything I can eat to any of the potlucks and she was happy to make them for me. She sent me home with the leftovers, so I shared them with the grands. Oh my, did they ever gobble them up! So cute! Wow…$12 taco? Yeah, that’s more than I’d pay. Gorgeous photos! Oh no…I’m so sorry you got a migraine. I hope it’s already gone by the time you read this.

@TeresaW2024 – Gotcha. I’m glad to read your BIL wasn’t taking advantage of your niece. Yes, my friend from church is super sweet. My mom actually told me after church that she didn’t like the woman at first. Why, you ask? Because my mom was jealous of me talking to the woman! Thankfully she’s over that now. Have fun with the littles today!

Mother’s Birthday was good – she loved the bears and tea and really enjoyed her strawberry margarita. I had a mango one that was so good! Here she is, looking fabulous at 82!

    mom and marg.jpg

The preview event at the theater was really disappointing. Nothing at all like the previous one I attended. I may or may not attend another one in the future. By the time it was over, it was 9:30 and I was too tired to play Skip-Bo, so she let me have a rain check. I ended the evening with Gong Fu cha. If you don’t feel like googling it, Gong Fu cha means “making tea with skill” and is the traditional Chinese way of quick steeping several times. When I’m focused on the tea, it allows me to relax and not think of all the other things going on in my life.

I moved big clothes to the back of the closet and smaller clothes to the front.

@vegan4lyfe2012 i do not find it stressful. I like cooking so I am always looking to see what can I make next, something different.

    Hi 👋

We had a good time camping. The water pump in the trailer broke and had to be replaced. Thank goodness we were only an hour away from home. We ordered one from Amazon, picked it up the next day and hubby got it fixed for us. After that, everything was good. It was the first time we had this trailer out since we got it last year. We got home Sunday afternoon and yesterday, I was so tired and wore out, I just rested all day. Today, it's time get back at it.

Recent NSV Doesn't feel like I have one but I was talking about when I was bedridden yesterday so I'm not as bad as that right now and I like being able to say my diabetes is under control.

I am glad your son found his tribe! :-)

"That is quite the age range! Hopefully the more seasoned boys help out the younger ones. Your son stopped near the end of Cubs, from the sound of it. Your mentioning that older Scouts mentor younger ones is right on the money! It's part of the program design. The program structure is quite different once kids reach Scouts. Teaching younger Scouts is built into rank advancement requirements, and happens organically as well. The age range goes with all this. Scout troops, if all goes well, have a range of ages that changes each year, with younger Scouts joining each year.

TL;DNR Thanks for giving me an excuse to talk about Scouts. It's a thing I love!

My flare got better but it comes and goes now. I did ride my bike yesterday but didn't have time today. Our cable box was bad so I went to the spectrum store and got a new one. It got stuck on "Activate" after four hours and another call to spectrum I elected to go and swap it out for another new cable box, and it got stuck on "Activate" too so we are without cable tv for the next 24 - 72 hours.

I should not have lost any weight I'm eating enough to maintain plus a bit extra. I hope everyone had a good Easter. I got my husband a canvas easter basket with ears and his name on the outside. He loved it. Amazon had really cute one's.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Those tacos were really good and dare I say WORTH IT! Thanks. I hope the nephew and his girlfriend do stay drama-free; your family has had enough drama! I hope you got to go see the great-nieces. Dinner sounds yummy.

@vegan4lyfe2012 That's really kind of her, then. And she's right! :) That was also nice that she gave you the leftovers. I'm glad the kids liked them, too. Yes, $12 a taco was a lot and more than I was thinking I would spend on lunch. I also got a $7 agua fresca (fruit water, with passionfruit and lime...it was really good and they made it with half the sugar for me!), so it was an expensive lunch! Thank you! I do feel better. That's a cute pic of your mom and she looks great! I would have chosen a mango one, too. :D Sorry about the preview event. Gong Fu cha sounds interesting. You are so good with teas! Good job with the popcorn!

@DrewsAnna Great pics! Chipper is adorable. :)

@Katmary71 I'd say those are huge NSVs! I started the video and I like it so far. I'm thinking I'll participate if I can keep up.

@Cornanda You are welcome! How's work going? How's the new way of eating?

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s one non-scale victory (NSV) you've had recently that made you feel proud or encouraged?
A few weeks ago, I tried on my leather jacket that I had to stop wearing last fall because it became too small. When I tried it on a few weeks ago, it fit perfectly! So, that was encouraging.

Hi all. My migraine went away on its own throughout the day (thankfully) and it was a busy day so I'm glad. It felt like a Monday lol. Traffic home was bad but once I got home, I made a nice simple salad with blue cheese, 50% less sugar dried cranberries, pecans, and chicken breast with lettuce. We call this salad the "Ugly Salad" because my friend who gave me the recipe, when asked what it was, said, "Oh, it's just an ugly salad." LOL I made a nice balsamic vinaigrette to go with it.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Your mom is so cute drinking her strawberry margarita, and she does look great! My Joe turns 82 on May 19th. I’ve been trying to think of a way we can celebrate. I’m sure ice cream and apple pie will be involved.  😋

@DrewsAnna So glad you had a great time camping. Love the pictures! 😍

@Katmary71 I started listening to the podcast yesterday and will finish today. I forgot how much I like Mel Robbins!  😃

@FushiaKat Ugh how frustrated you must be over your cable box. I would be so mad! Congrats on losing a little weight. How sweet to get your hubby his own special Easter basket.  🙂

@trooworld I love a good “ugly salad!” I’m glad your migraine went away.  🙂

Good morning! I went over to my niece’s house yesterday and played Barbies with the girls and little Eli, who has to be in the middle of everything. We also had homemade chocolate cake, which was incredibly good! I came home and woke up Joe from his nap, and he was not feeling well. He has been having headaches this whole week, and last night he was not looking good and went to bed at 7 pm. This morning he is worse, but not testing for a UTI, so I'm not really sure what is going on, but it might be a long day and I'm really praying we won't have a trip to the ER. Prayers and good thoughts appreciated! 🙏

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s one non-scale victory (NSV) you've had recently that made you feel proud or encouraged? I said no to bringing home more cake yesterday. 😭 Another NSV was that I had to put a shirt in the donate box this Sunday, as my sister told me it was too big and I looked ridiculous in it. 😂
