How do you handle cravings for high carb snacks when life just sometimes stresses you out?

I've found it quite hard going to stick to the meal plan this week as my Dad's been quite poorly in hospital (starting to get better now), and it's been really stressful for our family.

So some snacking inbetween meals has been creeping in. Plus I've had two days where I've eaten either off plan or more than I should have. Yesterday I had dinner at my friends' house and it was really good to spend time with them. I reminded them that I was still on low carb and they had done a barbecue type buffet - I stuck to sausages (Lincolnshire ones yum!), chicken, avocado salad, cheese coleslaw and mushrooms. I ate over my daily calorie quota, however, my friend was trying to tempt me with a brioche bun (I resisted!) whilst I also had to deal with sitting with a large dark chocolate Toblerone right on the table👀. I love dark chocolate and with both my friends munching a triangle each and offering a piece with a "oh... it's not got much sugar in", I still didn't give in.

All that free buffet style dining rather than one plate, and a few sips of red wine later, I got carried away, got home and polished off a load of cashew nuts. I added a rough idea of calories and it came to 880 over what my daily allowance should be. Feeling pretty down about it this morning and not looking forward to weighing myself. I have some stomach cramps from maybe not eating as clean😞 but going to focus on a new day and getting back on plan , drink lots of water and stay positive.

Hey everyone. It's been a while since I last posted and I can honestly say I "fell off the wagon" for about a month in May, going off plan and not making terrifically healthy choices. There's been alot going on which I touched on before and on the downside my relationship with food can be quite emotionally driven, so things like stress can have me eating more, whether to self soothe or just because I think "what's the point. " Some of you are probably reading this thinking, "yep that's me!" Well you're not alone, which is why I have created this group.

Anyway, I'm about 80% back on track pretty much so look out for more challenges, tips, photos and posts and feel free to post your questions, suggestions and thoughts too. Together we can do this.
