Ladies, I'm posting my weight today because we're about to get on the road for a mini golf trip to Nevada. We'll likely be back some time on Thursday or Friday. My trainer is off for her kids on their Spring Break. I worked out with her yesterday, and I'm feeling it today, so I doubt that I'll add any workouts in addition to golf.
Sorry to start the thread a day early, but I wanted to get my weight posted before I leave. I hope I won't gain too much!
I hope everyone is have a good week, and that you're all healthy, and not working too hard or stressing too much.

Oh, boy. Wrong direction and I seem to still slip up into the 131 zone at least one day during the week. I really need to think about ways I can reduce calories and fat and sugar without cutting food volume that much. That is something that worked well for me when I first started my bodybugg journey. For example, I'd use mustard and leave the mayo off of a sandwich. Or I'd have only sour cream and no butter on a baked potato. Little things add up, but through the years, I've stopped doing those little things. And sorry to be a day late posting. I was so happy to see that Sheesh started the thread. I did weigh yesterday morning, but I just never sat down at my computer long enough to post.
My 7-day averages were good, so that's another reason why I know I have to watch intake more carefully. They were: Steps = 11,272, and Kcals burned = 1,750. I was able to get the steps up because we were blessed with several days of nice weather. That weather has now vanished and it has been very chilly, damp, and windy for the past several days. I heard the weather report driving home from class today and learned that the high here on Saturday will be only 40 degrees. With dampness and wind, that is just not fun walking weather. So I'm slogging on my very noisy treadmill!Sheesh, I hope you're having a lot of fun on your golf trip. Little breaks in routine can do so much for us bodywise and headspace-wise. Have your your ears been itching? (I think that's the folklore about what happens if someone is talking about you!) Well, we finally finished watching season 3 of White Lotus and said a thank you to you for mentioning White Lotus season 1 as something to watch way back during covid. Honestly, Mike White is truly something else, although I do think the first two seasons were much better than the third.
Kelly, all of things you're juggling now does sound very tiring and stressful, and I hope you find a new house soon. I often wish that I had taken a more careful look at reducing our core bills when we were younger. Around here, houses in certain price ranges are also going for much more than the asking price, but given the huge percentage of our population who are government employees, we are now wondering if home prices will go way down.
Lois, looking forward to hearing how your bariatric zoom went. Hope the PT and/or workouts are helping to relieve your pain so that you can enjoy your soon-to-happen sister trip.
And I do hope that the weather in our various locations allows us all some walking time. Kelly, like you, I find that walking helps calm my mind and boost my spirit. When hubby is in pain, he gets very cranky, and so lately, I need something to calm me. Else I'm just going to have to put him down!! 😉0 -
Happy Friday, all. Kelly, I was thinking about you last night and wondered if a short-term rental is an option for you. When I moved to Maryland, the house we bought was not ready for move in, so we rented a furnished apartment of a couple of months. I think this complex had a couple of apartments they reserved for month-to-month rentals for people who are relocating, building a new home, sold a home quicker than expected, etc.

Sarah - Oh we've thought of all options and possibilities for sure. Too many things to consider that are rolling around in our brains, but until we know for sure if we can't get a house, the ideas are just ideas.
I liked your comment about cutting back calories without cutting food volume. Every little bit does count for sure. The struggle for me is my allergy situation. I have felt so crappy this week. I had another really bad reaction on Wednesday to the point I almost passed out. It's getting really bad and to the point where I'm afraid to eat. On top of cutting out tomatoes and peppers, I'm going to try not have any type of nuts. I had my shake this morning with protein powder and almond milk and noticed how crappy I felt after - dizzy, wonky, nauseous. Who the heck knows what's wrong. My blood work from the doctor is all normal and my blood pressure is good… so no clue. My allergist agreed to do food testing on May 2… but I'm worried because the 5 days before that, I can't take my allergy pills. I think for those 5 days, I'm going to have to just eat everything bland and plain. Stick to the same foods over and over that I feel don't cause me issues just for that week to make it through and in hopes I don't have a reaction.
My activity has really been lacking. My exhaustion levels are high… the one thing my bloodwork did show was a slightly low level of iron, which I expected. Maybe that's contributing… but so is the lack of activity. Our weather is just now starting to pick up to nicer temps, so after work I'll be grocery shopping for a few things for the cabin this weekend and then taking the pup for a walk.

Oh my Kelly. I can so relate to the fear and frustrations of undiagnosed allergies. While cleaning in the office yesterday I came across a folder with my medical papers from when I had those awful allergic reactions on my face, and later on other parts of my body, during 2018. The fear of that happening again is still so very real. I even felt a moment of panic because I have been using skin lotions recommended by the radiation team that I forgot to check for the couple of things that they identified on all those allergy tests (although I don't think those were what caused that major outbreak). And honestly, and I hate to admit this, I started having some odd sensations on my face as I was reading through those materials. I think it was pure nerves. I can also relate some to the food issue. Since I had that bad attack of diverticulitis that ended me up in the ER overnight, I've felt a little trepidation with what I eat. If my lower tummy is feeling a bit off, I worry about eating anything that might trigger a new attack. So I really hope that you get some answers soon, and I hope that you can relax at the cabin this weekend. Sending you a big hug. 😊

I'm still not feeling good. Waves of feeling weak, light headedness, heart palpitations, nauseous, which then gives me really bad anxiety cause I don't know what's happening. I came to work yesterday morning and immediately had to turn around and go home because I felt like I was going to pass out. I got home, cried in frustration to my husband as this has been happening since Saturday, then laid down and slept almost the entire day and fully overnight. Obviously something is going on. This morning I woke up and felt ok, then could slowly feel it coming on again in waves. Finally went to the walk-in clinic mid morning as I was worried it was something serious. Blood pressure is good, EKG is normal, checked eyes, ears, throat, all normal. He prescribed me a glucose monitor as that'll be the only way to know if my blood sugars are tanking during these episodes, as my regular bloodwork was normal the last 3 times. He also ordered a new round of bloodwork, so I'll be going to do that after work. From there, I just wait for the blood results and for my allergy appointment on May 2.
Sure hope this feeling goes away. I know it's not helping that I'm feeling super scared to eat because of the allergies. Stress is probably not helping with everything else we have going on too.
Thanks for the hug Sarah 😽

Happy Tuesday Ladies. I'm Back!!!
Brought home a cold that actually put me in bed yesterday. So thankful we had planned and flew hubby out to meet us on Saturday as I felt so cruddy on Sunday, I probably would have either gotten the hotel for another night or gone to my daughter's. Feeling a wee bit better today. Had a great time last week. We shopped and got most of the tchotchkes on Monday and then shared a caprese salad and a lasagna for dinner. Fun and delicious. Tuesday was Star Wars Nite. We got to Disneyland early and hit up some of the rides. Went back to the hotel at noon and we both took a nap. Returned to the park about 3 and had fun into the night. Not as many character pic opportunities but sis loved it and had a blast. We also go to visit my daughter and our step-sister. Medieval Times for dinner on Friday and some easy park days. Hubby arrived on Saturday and the fun continued. He went on rides with sis that my back couldn't handle and they had a fantastic time. Started to feel cruddy Sat evening, but my feet hurt in ways they normally don't (probably from adjusting my walk due to my back and knee problems). Sunday once we got on the road, I was flattened. I couldn't breathe and my head was pounding. Hubby drove all of the way. I had done so well up until then. I did work half a day yesterday and then crawled into bed. Came down and had some curry and rice and went back to bed. Chef was here, but I can't taste anything and I really just want soup. Work is insane. Thankfully I did jump on for a couple of hours on Wednesday and Friday so it wasn't complete chaos yesterday.
Kelly - I hope things mellow for you soon. Im worried with the other medical stuff that is happening. Possibly excessive stress related? And I know, there really isn't a way to de-stress when you're moving. Just know we're thinking positive thoughts for you!
Oh and I gained a couple of pounds, didn't reduce this trip. haha.
HVAC guys were here at 830 this morning. We have a working unit again. House is nice and cool.

Lois - Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather. Sounds like you're on the up though, so that's good! Although, it's never fun when you can't taste what you eat. I've always wanted to try a medieval times type dinner! They look fun and entertaining! Thank goodness your HVAC is working. Can't imagine not having AC with those temps you get!
Sarah - Those steps you're getting are awesome! I can't wait for nicer weather here. We also had a mini streak of nice weather and then.. it snowed. Ugh. It's all melted now but there's still a dampness to the air. The winds are supposed to be brutal today too.
Sheesh - I hope you're enjoying your golf trip!
Well today I started off not feeling great. I got my glucose monitor and have checked my sugars twice, once last night and once this morning and they are in the normal range, so that gave me some added relief. I'll keep testing when I don't feel well. I think a lot of my symptoms are just stress related. House, allergies, kids, work, hubby's health, etc, it's all adding up. I was reading about some of my symptoms and the one thing that keeps appearing in my searches is GERD… which is a good possibility. They say it can be worse in the morning, so I'm going to do some research on it to see what I can do to help make that better, in case that's what it is. I believe all of those symptoms are separate from the allergy symptoms but I know the stress of it is probably making it worse, plus the not eating enough part. I don't have a follow up with my doctor until the end of May, so I have to try something before then to make this better.
