Achilles Tendon Pain (Help)

I have done the C25K before almost Two years ago with great success, due to eat I’ve ran since 21 years old. I gained almost 30-40 pounds da since then and have decided to get back at it since I really enjoy running. I am on week two and notice that I have a lot of tightness/ pain for several days after running. I assume this is because I am heavier than I was before. I am currently 35 years old, 6’2”, and weigh 265lbs. Should I lose weight before trying to run again? Should I power through the soreness? Just looking for advice.
