Finally, feeling somewhat better. Haven’t exercised in several days and still not ready. Just trying to get my strength back. Still coughing and running a low grade fever. Thankfully still not much of an appetite…a good thing since I’m not exercising yet.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a good week ladies!

Kathy, is your Covid the new strain that's out there? Covid 19? I just read about it. Oh, man! I'm so sorry you caught it. So ugly!

We had Collin this morning and Ronan is here now. He has one day left of 3rd Grade! He got Student of the Month and something else…cuz he's so smart! A reading award!

I had my trainer at noon for a 60 min workout and now I'm just chillin'! I'm thinking about walking after Collin is p/u tomorrow…depends on how hot it is. We'll see.

Saw the Strawberry Moon coming up last night. Pat had to help cuz it was between two roof tops! but it was small and silver…

We had Collin this morning, and Ronan this afternoon and now I'm just chillin'. I had my trainer at noon for a 60 min workout. Maybe I'll be able to walk tomorrow after Collin is p/u. We'll see what the temp is.

Tried to see the moon, Chris, but it was overcast at the coast. A nice evening… but no moon.

Hope you enjoyed it anyway. Maybe we're supposed to wear rose-colored glasses for the event? Fun to think about...

I kicked myself out of the house for an easy walk today, wondering why it felt so daunting. Then remembered:

    Walk & sun-exhaustion Sunday + weed-whacking Tuesday = short walk Wednesday ✅

Kathy glad you are feeling a bit more like yourself. Start with some stretching to keep in the habit of working out.

    Chris that concert sounds amazing.

Paula that iris might as well have been the one I gave you. So beautiful.

Well I am going broke keeping up with everything here. Asuna was $350. Taxes on both properties. Libby has infected ears and needs seen. The meds from the last one don't seem to be working. Still have not gotten my retirement check. We need a new door for the cabin bedroom. And just now noticed our tree has aphids. Thousands upon thousands. This tree is huge. Towering over our home. No idea what it will cost. Going to get it evaluated. If that is all then we will have it sprayed. It is a spruce. We will then treat it differently for a few years. And there are 4 wasp nests we need to deal with.

I need a vacation from retirement.

Oh on a good note. Rocky put in an arched doorway for me.

I love it. Adds something nice to that tall otherwise boring doorway.

    Shelley,

They sell bags of live ladybugs to eat aphids. Easier & cheaper than spraying and less nasty chemicals.

Shelley, I hope you get your bug problem solved. EEWWEE! I love your arch! Sara sent us a youtube link for the whole concert…https://youtu.be/otEINKOFNeA…Bentwood Vocal Collective - June 2025…if you're interested. If there is a picture of them, Sara is the first one on the left. Blue blouse.

Good walk, Paula. I should have done that today, but after Collin, all I wanted to do was melt into my chair! Egads, man! the kid is a pistol! And it was 92 degrees!! The wind was hot, too. I'm looking forward to Sat and Sun!

Thursday: 10 minutes stretch and 50 minutes walk at the park. It was great to be outside.

Will be taking my last meds today. I think I’m on the road to recovery. Glad I’m over this.

Shelley yes it was the new strain of Covid. Be careful everyone the numbers are up. Take care of yourselves.

Glad you are feeling better, Kathy.

Had my trainer for a 60 min workout this afternoon. It was a good one!

It's 83 degrees with 17 mph winds…I'm going to go out and check to see if it's too hot for a walk around the high school. Maybe. Tomorrow morning for sure to the posts office and back.

No kids today. They are all going to the beach with their friends for the Father's Day weekend. We are doing nothing so far for this weekend. 😁

Got up at 7:00…out of the door by 9:00 to the post office and back…5.48 miles in 112 mins. I saw a mamma duck and her baby in the canal. It was the first ducks in a very long time. I wonder where they go…and , where was daddy duck?? Hardly any folks out. It was a good walk.

Now I'm drinking coffee and reading. I hope you all have a great weekend.

How much coffee do you drink, Chris? Is it okay if I ask?

I would love to have 8cups/day but try to stop at two*. Just noticing the impact more nowadays.

    Paula

*Two mugfuls still counts as 2, right, even if they're 16oz cups?

Paula, I can usually finish the 14 cup pot I make in the morning. Sometimes…weekends or when we don't have the boys…I'll make an additional 1/2 pot and drink a little. Back when I was 34 and pregnant w/Sara I quit Cold Turkey…I was soooo sick for a while. As soon as Sara stopped nursing, I hit the BREW button. Did the same thing when I got pregnant w/Nick. UGH!! I do stop drinking coffee at 5:00 p.m. or I can't get to sleep.

Chris that is soooo much coffee. Is there a coffee drinker award? Who drinks the most? You won hands down. So where is daddy duck? They usually stay together, right?

Chris thanks, I love the arch. And look forward to seeing DDD perform.

Paula I don't think there was enough lady bugs to save that tree. In 26 years it is the first time we have sprayed it. Spraying was $120. They were able to get maybe 2/3 of it. Maybe less. Another 2 bottles of aphids killer for its roots. Then I realized all my roses have aphids along with my hanging baskets. I sprayed them with a mild solution of a more natural insecticide. I only spray where they are usually hanging out. They love the rose buds and newly opening leaves.

Kathy I am so glad you pulled through so well. Nasty stuff.

Hung the bedroom door at the cabin. Poor Libby has such a bad ear infection. She is on the mend finally. She was acting more like herself finally. And she has allergies. Her eyes get so gunky. Rocky had his first shot. Time will tell.

Thanks, Shelley, for the award!! I looked all over for Daddy Duck and couldn't find him. Glad Libby is doing better.

Made soup today. No Walking. I just stayed home w/my sweet husband.

Going to read and drink Swamp Water for the rest of the evening! it's 83 degrees right now. Winds at 14 mph. It was much hotter this afternoon and windier!!

Swamp water, is that code for coffee? lol.

Today we had lunch with friends and a quiet father's day. Pulled some weeds. But it was hot outside. Came inside and did nothing. Tomorrow is Yoga. I should take Libby for a short bike ride.

Monday: 10 minutes stretch, 20 minutes full body strength, 20 minutes cardio and 10 minutes core. My exercise partner is back from Texas and I’m feeling much better.

My upstairs AC is not blowing cool air. I have someone coming tomorrow to check it out. It’s always something. I’m hoping it’s not serious.

Shelley, I would never call my coffee Swamp Water…that would be so disrespectful! My Swamp Water is my water infusion bottle. I put oranges, cucumber and lemon in the center compartment then ice and water in the main bottle. We were visiting Sara in the hospital after she delivered Ronan. I take my water bottle with me everywhere. She didn't have any water in her room and asked if she could have some of mine. I hadn't added any ice for fresh water for a while. The water was a bit warm. She took a slug, then stuck out her tongue and said,"EEWWEE!! That tastes like Swamp Water!!" And it has been called Swamp Water ever since.😁

    Shelley,

I think the "swamp water" comment was my description of the pool of rainwater collected from a leak in the roof last winter. While sitting for several months, it collected dead flies and quite a bit of algae. Wish there was a picture before it was drained.

But in lieu of that, how about a picture of one of the baby turkeys on my deck this afternoon. Much cuter.

Tuesday: 10 minutes stretch. 30 minutes full body strength training and 20 minutes cardio get fit with Rick.

Paula I feel your frustration. You would think if someone had Covid they would lose a couple of pounds. But no…

I had Doc appt this morning. I am just fine!! I can go back to all my lifting and pushing and pulling…hehehe…just can't tell my trainer.😁Just kidding.

Then finished putting the house together for our housekeeper and her daughter. And now…nothing!!!

It got really hot today. Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter. I'm hoping to walk Thursday morning, but we'll see. It's Pat's b'day and the kids are coming over for dinner to celebrate Father's Day and his b'day since they were out of town for Father's Day. I'll have to see what I need to do…besides wrap his three gifts that have been sitting here on the counter next to me for a week.🤫

Well, that's about it for now.

Had my trainer for a 60 min workout this afternoon. It was good.

It's 103 degrees out there. Wind is hot, hot!! I'm going to try to walk in the morning. We'll see how it plays out.

Drinking coffee and waiting for Amazon to deliver stuff.

    Later, my friends.

    Hey Kathy,

An article on the new "Nimbus" Covid19 variant said it is nicknamed "Razor Throat" because that's what it feels like. I hope the one you had was easier on you; and that you're feeling better.

Wednesday: rest day. Thursday: 12 minutes stretch. Took the day off to spend with Ron.

Paula it was awful but I’m sure it could have been a lot worse. Still coughing just a little and trying to get my strength back but overall I feel good.
