How do I stop eating snacks while watching TV? I get one snack, which leads to another and before I know it, I've eaten hundreds of calories but I could still eat more. I'm not hungry but I can't seem to get just one. New to the group - thanks! Dorrie

I try and eat meals and snacks at the dining table. To avoid just this sort of thing. The mindless snacking..

I was going to suggest the same thing. Don’t eat in front of the tv. Another thing is take up a hobby. I did this trick when I quit smoking. I crocheted or cross stitched. That way my brain and hands stayed busy. I know some people during commercials will get up and walk in place or do some light workout

Knitting or crochet is a great tip @blessedgrandma5. Having something to do with your hands is key, whether it's a hobby to do, or a drink you enjoy like water, flavored water, herbal tea, etc. Most of the time it's a habit and once you stop it or replace it with other habits the cravings will start to subside.

For me, I also find it helps to make sure I've eaten enough throughout in the day, as that helps cut down on snacking in the evenings. When I haven't eaten enough food during the day, especially breakfast, I will tend to snack whether I feel hungry or not.
