Today's Topic: July 4th 🇺🇲 One of those Holidays. Care to share your special meal for this summertime Holiday?

    Ok our main meal is already planned.

    Baked in the oven pork spare ribs with bbq sauce (of course), homemade potato salad, cole slaw, and baked beans with brown sugar and brisket in them. No desert planned at this time. This will be a late afternoon meal that will be a lunch, dinner meal.

    No special meal planned for us. We're going to a friend's house to watch our local parade, and they put out a brunch spread. I already had breakfast so I won't partake. It's Shabbos for us, so that overrides evening BBQs and stuff like that.

    LOL - seems like sometime keeping Kosher keeps you on plan and sometimes it drags you off, Steve. 😉

    The 4th has never been a food event for us. I don’t have family in the immediate area that we visit with, and I’m “anti-crowd”, so I won’t be at a parade this morning or fireworks this evening.

    In a nod to the current conventional thinking, I did buy two burgers from the butcher in Market Basket, and we’ll try those today. (The butcher we’ve been getting burgers and chicken from seems to be deteriorating, so I’m trying new sources.) I’ll have a spinach salad to go with it.

    And maybe a beer - hmm. 🤔

    Nothing today, but tomorrow we go to dd's for a combined birthday/4th celebration.

    Her's the 3rd, and DSIL, his DD, and a family friend the 4th and 5th.

    I know I'll over eat, but will watch it. He's smoking meats on his new toy, so will enjoy the meats. The rest, hmmmm, there's always TOL's brownies.😉
