During any types of stress do you have to deal with eating habits or foods types? Do you have a success method or program for when you feel like or your In a stressful period that has worked for you?

Stress eating is less common for me now that I’m no longer gainfully employed. I can still get caught up in it from time to time. When stress eating happens, I try to immediately try to get back on my feet and dust myself off, then go back to my eating plan. I don’t aim for perfection, which is a fool’s game when it comes to following a diet plan.

I am a stress drinker. It's a terrible way to approach stress, I freely admit. Stress drinking leads to snacking as well, so it's a double-whammy! If I'm honest with myself, and could change one thing, that would probably be the issue I'd tackle.

I don’t think I have enough insight into why I eat what I eat when I eat to answer this. I can’t really look back at particular situations and times and say “well, I did X because of Y”.

Like Tim, though, I experience less stress in retirement.

I am a stress eater. However, I have found examining what I am experiencing often helps me to see it for what it is and, often, make better decisions. I use the RALIC method, assuming I think of it.

    1. Recognize what you're feeling.
    2. Accept that you're in the situation.
    3. Lean In and fully examine the situation and your response to it
    4. Choose how to respond to the situation

I don't think I let outside stress with other things effect my eating habits. Overeating in itself is enough after I overeat to stress me out because! I know better. I realize by now that stress eating is not the root cause if my overeating. I won't go into the reasons but stress overeating I don't believe isc why I overeat.
