Thought this would be of interest since we have a lot of walkers. A key finding found that 7,000 steps/day helped to prevent falling, which I found interesting for obvious reasons.

    Yup, not shocking. I seem to recall the “10k steps” goal was started by a Japanese company selling a pedometer.

    Yes the 10K steps goal was started by a Japanese pedometer company. The Japanese symbol for 10,000 looks like a stylized stick figure walking. No need to overdo it when getting your daily step count. I aim for 7K daily.

    I try for 8 to 9K 4 times a week, gonna be a little harder to do this week with temps forecast in the high 90's

    I don’t have a specific target or threshold. I try to walk about an hour per day for fitness, and that still adds up with other things to 9-10K.

    Getting in 7k steps is almost just a passing thought for me. Maybe additional thiughts or explanations to come later.
