I can't believe I'm the first post this week. It's been quite a while since this has occurred. Woot Woot.

Thanks Kelly - yeah, I didn't realize it last year until I walked out that it wasn't a complete physical as I had experienced in the past. And this year we were having so many conversations with what's happening with me, hypertension, pre-diabetic - the bariatric program experience and my back that he was almost walking out and remembered he hadn't listened to my lungs or heart… and after I got to my car I realized, he didn't touch anything else. Like you ladies, my retired doc did all of those things plus the EKG. That's why I asked and am thinking I may need to change practices. I ain't getting any younger and more things are failing me than succeeding… lol.

Anyhow, I just broke the 250 mark…249.8 for the 3rd day. So down 5lbs from June 3 naked and afraid weight first thing in the am. The docs scale would be impacted by water intake, if I ate on my way there and clothing (they knock off 2lbs for clothing and shoes from their numbers). I may have gained it back this morning. Woke late and had an 8am situation so I ordered Starbucks for breakfast and ordered my first cold brew in a couple of months. Oh boy that caffeine is coursing through my veins and i didn't drink 8oz of it. whew.

The radiologist still hasn't posted their report, so I don't know anything else on my back. I still went to my trainer last night and did lighter upper body, focused on lower. Even some of the lower was challenging…but at least I kept moving. Only took Tylenol PM last night, not the muscle relaxer and unsure that was a smart decision.

Looking forward to your updates.

Sheesh - how's the granddaughter visit going??

I'll take it. It's been a pretty good week. I bought myself a weighted vest on Amazon and started using that on my treadmill walks. Yesterday was my work from home day and I really focused on getting more activity throughout the day. On my breaks, I took my pup for 3 smaller walks during the day. Plus I bought myself a standing desk, so I tried to take advantage of that instead of sitting all the time. And the focus on protein, water, veggies and fruit was better. Slowly but surely!

Lois - Congrats and breaking the 250 mark! I too love my coffee :) I wonder how long it normally takes to get a report from a radiologist. I hope the pain isn't as bad today and you didn't have to take a ton of meds.

Sarah - Hope your arm pain has subsided and you didn't feel any other lasting side effects from the booster. How's taking it easy going? Hopefully you've found that happy medium between moving and relaxing.

Sheesh - I hope the visit with your grand daughter is going well and there isn't too much drama lol

    Congrats Kelly!!! stay focused.

Radiologist report is posted this morning. "Anterior osteophyte formation and disc diminution is visible, no fractures visible" or other concerns. Basically a bone spur with some disc compression. pain management, weight loss and exercised…all of which I'm doing. I don't want to live on muscle relaxers etc. Ribs are normal. I am going to request an MRI (not sure there's enough in the xray for insurance to cover it, but I'm going to ask). And I'm not sure what the average time for a radiologist to post the report would be, but I'm sure they were focused on more emergent cases than mine. I've had them post as soon as the same day or next day…this one a bit longer.

    Thanks Lois!

Thank goodness nothing is broken/fractured. I think it's amazing that they "post" your results so that you can look at them online when they're available. I would have to make an appointment, which would likely be weeks later, and it could be for nothing if it didn't show anything on the xrays. They wouldn't be able to tell me that until the appt. Such a silly system we have. Even phone appointments take months to get sometimes.

Wow Kelly. I also got a phone call from the nurse with my results. He's ordering PT again. He doesn't think MRI is going to show anything substantial. Basically, I'm getting older, overweight and not active enough. But it was a good phone call. Bloodwork is also not where it should be, so rechecking that in October. Hopefully with the new plan I'm working we'll see some results in the right direction.

Well, I'm still hanging out in the same neighborhood that you all know I don't want to be in!

Sorry to be so late to post this week. Yesterday I decided to go with hubby to his cardiologist appointment in case they told him something that might take his mind off his driving on the way home through the afternoon rush hour traffic. Turns out they didn't say much because they had not received the results of all the tests (MRI, CT with contrast, etc.) he had done in the ER. So they just put him on a heart monitor for a few weeks and scheduled a followup for mid-September. And honestly, for the past two days, time has just slipped away. And now, the door bell just rang and our lovely next-door neighbor just delivered dinner for us! So I will be back later, I hope, to chat more, but have to run. I also have a zoom meeting to attend at 7.

Sarah - the monitor is a good idea. They get a lot of information from that than just the snapshot MRI, CT etc. So think of that as a great thing to see what's happening with hubby. I hope you had a lovely dinner. And your weight will come back down as you continue to recover. Please be patient and acknowledge your .2 reduction.

I did make it to my trainer last night and I was able to workout for the entire 30 mins and then a stretch. Back is not yelling at me so far this morning. Rhea and her parents are coming over this weekend. Hoping we can work on the Cricut machine and get some tshirts done for our trip next month. I bought myself several extra shirts to play with and test, so no worries if those don't turn out the way we want.

Sheesh did you survive your granddaughter?? Or are in in rest and recover mode. I'm sure you made the most amazing memories for her (and you).

Hoping everyone has an amazing weekend.

Wow, Kelly. I was not ready for this! I knew it probably would not go as long as the original "Sex and the City," but I was hoping for a good handful of seasons. However, there was something about about Miranda as a gay woman that just didn't feel authentic. And I don't think many people can truly relate to people who have as much money as most of the characters in this show. I mean one outfit would blow my entire month's budget! But there are still elements I like and it is a great escape while walking on the TM! I guess I'll have to rewatch some of the very old Sex and the City episodes, which I can still enjoy even all these years later.

And sorry ladies that I once again did not make it back upstairs to my desk last night. After my zoom meeting, we heated up the lovely dinner that our neighbors brought over and then I walked on the treadmill while hubby and I watched Alone and Alone Australia. I did take a couple of rest breaks but got in more than 8K steps last night, and I almost (within a couple of hundred) got in 10K on Wednesday. It's my goal to get at least 8K each day this week. But I am having trouble getting myself moving during the day. I find myself reading a lot. I started doing that when I had to because of the surgery, and I'm finding it hard to get out of the habit of being sedentary. But I have to do that if I'm going to get these extra pounds off and not lose the muscle strength that took a long time to build. I don't have the muscles that Sheesh has (and that I envy), but honestly, having a little leg strength helped so much when I had to be careful not to move my midsection too much.

And mentioning Sheesh, I hope she's just been busy with the visiting granddaughter and can check in soon.

Wow…I never really got into the Sex and the City hype. I tried, but just didn't connect. And I'm finding when they try to do a show with the same cast after being away from one another for several years and other projects, it just doesn't have the same vibe. Gilmore Girls come to mind most recently. The connection just wasn't there, it seemed so forced. I just watched Sullivan's Crossing on Netflix (I like Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls). The story line is ok…waiting for the cast to really meld together.

Rhea and her parents came by this weekend. We worked on the Cricut machine making Disney shirts. We're starting to get the hang of the machine, but there's not a lot of mobility except going back and forth from Den to LR to heat press the stuff on the shirt. We were printing and cutting, so needed to be in the Den connected to the printer. Somehow the Design Space software refused to see my printer otherwise. And you have to be connected to the Cricut at the same time. UGH. Super frustrating, but we practiced on Rhea's shirts so she was super duper happy. Ladies - future - I recommend order shirts from the peeps on ETSY. LOL This is not easy. UGH. But now I'm committed. So being so focused on that on Saturday yesterday my back really felt the after effects - BOO.

I have my trainer tomorrow and Thursday this week and for the next three weeks - with a couple of support group meetings sprinkled in.

I'm sure Sheesh is still with the granddaughter or recovering…lol . We have Rhea again next Saturday for a sleep over.

I have to go into Scottsdale on Wednesday, so I'll post back on Thursday. We're hot at 108 again today. And Wednesday is supposed to be 111….YUCK. Have a lovely week everyone.

I'm back. Today I weighed 130.4, so I'll take that because I missed my trainer last Thursday, but my granddaughter worked out with us last Monday. She was so cute. She's a swimmer, and plays on a water polo team, so she was interested in getting more muscle, and she did great. My trainer was so great to adapt the weights for her. The rest of the week is a blur of mani /pedis, shopping at 3, yes THREE different malls, the zoo, the movie "Leilo and Stitch", playing games, hot tub and water guns, the community rec center pool, Snowbird Tram and lunch at the top, a parade her step-cousin was in for "Lindon Days" (the small town her mom lives in), cooking, eating, and watching Seinfeld re-runs in our 'spare time', we went to Barnes and Noble and bought books (I got "The Testaments" by Margaret Atwood - her sequel to "The Handmaids Tale", grand got a magazine and a juvenile girls book from a series . .can't remember the name) then we read and chatted in the Starbucks with coffee, matcha drink for her, and ate croissants. The little girl grands from here joined us for a couple days, with the 3 yo and my daughter sleeping over 2 nights. We had a blast! By the time my DIL got here on Saturday, I had just enough energy left to go to "Brandy Melville" and an Italian place for dinner. We dropped them off at the airport Sunday morning . . and I was wrecked for the rest of Sunday, LOL! Kelly, there was no drama at all, other than some gossip about her cousins down south. She said she felt scared one night, but fell back to sleep . . I think it was the night hubby was up wandering, as he tends to do.

Today, I had cleaning ladies (thank god) and did laundry. I'm recovering slowly.

I read all your posts, and I'm glad that Lois has no fracture, but I know how painful compressed discs and bone spurs can be. But, I've read that they do heal, but it takes a long time. And, we had a lot of heat here too, but nothing like 111! Hang in there Lois.

Kelly, your plans for your goals are awesome! I'll be setting new ones now that things have slowed down.

Sarah, you're so great about getting your steps already. I hope you don't overdo it, and Lois is right that the weight will come off fast after full recovery. And, I agree that a heart monitor for hubby is a good idea. . make sure all is normal, which I hope it is.

I'll be back for weigh-in Wednesday, and maybe some new goals. We have to stay focused and not let our schedules distract us for long.
