Just hanging steady. Good thing is that my lower tummy does feel a little better this week. I notice it most when I stand from a seated position. Doesn't pull as much.
Once again, my 7-day average did not quite reach 9K steps. It was 8,499, which I don't think was too bad given that day that my fitbit was dead and the fact that on two days, I did some of my walking in the pool where I don't wear my fitbit. Mentioning which, Saturday and Sunday were the first times we went to the pool this year. First there were the three deaths in June, then my surgery and recovery, and just as I could get my tummy wet, they put the heart monitor on hubby. But we did enjoy those days, which were the last two for the pool closest to us. It closed at 6 p.m. on Sunday for major renovations. There are five other pools we can go to, but most have been renovated to suit kids with sliding boards and other water features. So now they're noisier places that are not as conducive to walking. Thankfully, our pool will stay adult focused for people who walk or swim laps. While in the pool, I got a chance to talk to a lady who lives a few streets away and she told me that she also had a colon resection a few years ago and that her recovery also took much longer than 6 weeks. Comforting to hear, as she's doing great now—except that she's scheduled for a lumpectomy next week. So I was able to share some encouraging words regarding that.
Lois, happy to hear that you're having some success with the bariatric team. If you can walk all day at Disneyland, you'll be able to do a lot more than you think once summer is over and you settle into the routine. And your description of the time with Rhea was delightful. I could just envision the fun and was glad to hear that she likes books!
Kelly, hope that the work on the new house is going well and that you are not killing yourself as Moms and StepMoms tend to do when getting the kids ready to return to school. And regarding hobbies, hubby keeps telling me that I need a hobby. He doesn't count reading and the little bit of gardening that I do as hobbies. (I think he wants to justify the time and money he spends on his hobbies. LOL)
Sheesh, hope all is well with you and that you're getting a little rest now that your company is gone. Let us know what you think about the vibration device. Anything to build bones is a bonus. I went with hubby to his neurology appointment on Monday and we got in the elevator with a man who has severe osteoporosis and it reminded me that my calcium and my walking are very important.
By the way, hubby's appointment with the neurologist went well. He said he did not think that he is at a very high risk for another TIA. And I went to the opthalmologist this morning and all is well with my eyes—only small beginning of cataracts and everything else looked good for now. So a few good things. :-)
Well, my eyes are still dilated a bit, but I still need to go over and take our neighbor's dog for a walk and give him his afternoon feeding. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Happy Wednesday! Still holding at 249 so I'm ok with that. I did keep my trainer appointment last night. It's getting easier to get through the sets. I kinda want to increase weights a little but we both believe it would be best to stay at the same weights until after my September travels. I don't want to become too sore when I'll be in a car for six hours the day after trainings… But I am feeling a bit more confident, which is a good feeling. And Sarah - you're right, once the weather begins to cool down (110 today), I can get more walking in after work and expand my exercise routine. Hoping for double digits when we get home form our Labor Day travels. I have dinner with my girlfriend this evening so I'm looking forward to our visit.
Sarah - so glad you are still healing and all is progressing - even if it is slowly!! So glad for hubby's update as well. Glad you were able to enjoy a day at the pool. You're so sweet to assist your neighbors with their pets. Super sweet. I used to do that for one of our neighbors as well. They no longer have dogs either, but it was fun.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's posts tomorrow.

LW: 129.8
TW: 129.2That's about what I do when I'm 100% tracking . . between .4 to .6 reduction is all I can expect.
Sarah, good job with a reduction, especially since your steps were lower. And, I'm so happy you're feeling better and were able to get in the pool. We only got in 2 visits to our community outdoor pool this year. But, there are indoor pools we can use all year. If only I were a better swimmer, lol. I had 1 week of swimming lessons when I was 8. I have no confidence in the water! Glad that hubby had nothing to concern the neurologist about another TIA. The treatment I was told was to take a baby aspirin every day, keep my weight down, keep my BP under control, and exercise. Pretty much what they say to everyone. Happy for you that you don't need cataract surgery . . I keep putting it off even though he tells me I could have it now, and I would heal better younger rather than older. Hubby had to have one eye done twice . . ugh, no thanks. I hope Teddy is better. Maybe he just doesn't have much appetite? And I agree that you're very kind to do pet sitting. Others people's pets are not my favorite thing to do, lol. We loved our dogs, but I agree with Lois that I'm done with pets. I've been tempted a few times, but I found out I'm allergic to dogs also, which surprised me. And my son is very, very allergic to cats. . can't even be in the same house with one.
Lois, it's great that you're feeling stronger and ready for more challenge with your training! Keep going strong. As far as food intake, the only thing that works for me is logging food, and keeping calories in a certain range, while prioritizing protein and veggies. I love it that Rhea is all about Grandma and Grandpa ☺️ Very cute. One of my granddaughters here started pre-school already this year! I'll post a photo of her on her first day . . she said it was fun, but there was a boy who kept poking her. Boys are so weird. I'm sure it's because she's so cute, but really boys . . duh. I have to admit I don't know what a cricut is, but it sounds like fun. I'm sure you'll enjoy the shirts in Disneyland!

This is where I have been hovering for a while now, so not surprising. I have been cutting out eating before bed, which obviously helps. Some days are better than others for activity levels, but I still haven't found my routing. I keep planning to do the treadmill in the mornings before work, but with bad sleeps, I just haven't gotten there yet. Wednesday I managed to go for a walk with pup before work, which was nice. The temps in the mornings are much more bearable now. I like Summer, but after a while I get tired of the heat and this year I'm so sick of the humidity. We had a huge storm last night, but thankfully no major damage that I could see. Had to bring the pup to daycare this morning, cause we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave him alone at home with the storm. He gets sooo terrified… poor thing. At least at daycare, he's around other dogs and people.
Sarah - Glad to hear that the pulling isn't as bad in your tummy and that your hubby's neuro appt went well. That's all positive news we like to hear! Also, that's too funny about what you said about your husband and your hobbies. Mine is the EXACT same way and I'm pretty sure it's guilt for spending money on his hobbies, like you said lol How's Teddy been doing? Other than losing weight, he seems pretty much normal?
Lois - Too bad the cricut machine is so difficult! I know a few people that have them, but they mostly do glassware. I've never seen one or know how they work, but for how much they cost they must be worth it! I know people make lots of stuff and sell it on Etsy, but in what you're saying, they obviously work hard to earn their money lol I also really liked your comment of "I am feeling a bit more confident, which is a good feeling." It really is a great feeling when we feel more confident. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I have told my hubby that since we moved, my stress and anxiety have almost completely gone away. I have my little moments with anxiety, but for the most part, I've been keeping it at bay. By not having bad anxiety bouts, it has helped me get out more and be more active outside and even get to know our neighbors at times, which helps me feel more confident. It's a great feeling.
Sheesh - very cute pics of the grandkiddos! And yep.. boys ARE weird 😋
After Friday, both Shawn and I are on vacation until Sept 2. Since he's started the deck, we plan to work on that and then gets some longer days out at the cabin. Hopefully the weather is decent. We also have a BBQ to go to on Saturday, but the weather doesn't look so nice so it might be an indoor event.

Kelly - The Cricut is a cutting machine. You can cut varied vinyl (sticky to hard surfaces or iron-on), cardstock, paper etc… ) you can find pictures you want and it will cut the outlines etc. These are some of the shirts we "cut" the vinyl and used the heat press (a big square iron without steam holes) to adhere it to the shirts. Yes, you can also put it on glassware, mugs, and stuff. You can also use it as a stencil to silk screen prints on shirts or etch glass. So many things, if you have the ability to be crafty - which is one of my challenges…lol. We only had Disney bound t-shirts in mind when we decided to buy the machine last Christmas. lol I also have invested in scrapbooking (a gazilion years ago) and I grew up crocheting, and added quilting. So there are some craft ideas.
Sheesh - your grands are ADORABLE!!!
And I am logging every meal/snack on the baritastic app.
