Total Carbs Vs Net Carbs

For the life of me I can not find a solid answer on this subject lol! Which is the number I should Follow? My meals are pretty mapped out from week to week, I find its much easier for me to be "boring" with my meals so my macros are almost always the same. Regular carbs end up being 24 ( Gasp! I know I am going over by 4), But my Net carbs are only 14…

Either way I for sure am losing weight and inches at the moment, but I can not get this nagging out of my brain about which I should be striving for?

Any help would be very appreciated

The issue with net carbs is some (many in fact) sugar alcohols (maltitol for example) have a glycemic index and thus induce an insulin response. They are subtracted when calculating net carbs. I personally have used both. I would suggest focusing on total carbs to start, and when you are settled in the keto way of eating, try net carbs and see how your body responds.

I watch net carbs. I do not have sugar alcohols in the diet.
