Been a busy few days! Gained some water weight after working out so trying to not let it stress me. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving planned!

Hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving as well. I've been doing very well. I have clearance to start the Elliptical (light, see how the body reacts) so I did 10mins this morning at medium resistance
+ Lower Back Ability workout and some chest
(Presses, flies and Incline/using a Bench Push ups) 20reps 2 sets.
Bro#1- had a liver biopsy and a port placed yesterday. Praying that the biopsy comes back benign. Bro#1 and Bro#2+Wife and My mom will have a thanksgiving meal at mom's house. I am 13hrs south, so…. not cleared to go (high risk, I would go however…ya know that could set me back.)
@ceebeeslim - So do you do a Thanksgiving meal? Any relatives/family coming over/visiting? Do your parents handle it pretty well.@Justgirl81 do you do anything/go anywhere for Thanksgiving?
My 2 kids and I will have a traditional turkey meal here. preppared by me. AND they are helping with the decorations.

wonderful news about the clearance @SherryRueter! Big southern dinner planned — as usual - at my parents house. Hubby drives down - he, my dad and my niece are the cooks. I clean - it’s a mental break for me in some ways. @justgirl81 - thanks for the reminder. I do have some dandelion tea. Will take some now.
I was letting the fear of scale weight stop me from starting back lifting even though I know it would be all water weight. So I started back yesterday and incredibly sore - couldn’t get through the night without getting up for an analgesic cream, tiger balm, advil, and a heat wrap for my back! I think it was the deadlift, lunges, and 2 minute plank!😆Determined to be thankful - and thankful for you both! It’s been nice to have an ear and for your encouraging words - and prayers! Keep em coming. 🙏🏽

hahahaha! I have to dismiss the water weight @justgirl81 or I’ll drive myself crazy. One pound away from a goal weight - and here comes Thanksgiving. I have to be honest with myself and stop saying Thanksgiving is “just a day” - technically it is, but for me it’s a weekend of overindulgence (family, sweets, portions, more sedentary, husband’s birthday) - so three pounds up. Whoo boy! Started back yesterday and lost .8 pound. I’m soooo determined to not let another year end with me saying the same old tired things!! I. Will. Do. This. Hope you survived Thanksgiving!

I really think all this change of shifts at work has wreaked havoc on my digestive system, circadian rhythm, and metabolism. I'm so looking forward to getting back to a regular day-shift schedule next week; praise to God in Lord Jesus Christ name, amen.

Ceebee - sounds like you went to hard on the workout. Perhaps start at a place where you don't hurt all over by 6pm and slowly increase the workout from there.
I'm presently at 10-12 mins on ellip. I tried 15mins on Tues. morning as my warm up. Felt so good. then added push ups with my PT routine. At noon, with the cold weather I decided 10mins more ellip + treadmill for 18mins. THAT on top of STANDING and sitting (30 mins each) …. I was POOPED and had to take Wed off from everything (except work standing/sitting.
So today, lesson learned. I can do one session of elliptical. and be safe. I can repeat this 3x a week for a bit and then slowly increase it.
Today, I did shoulders + cardio (2 shoulders, 1 cardio) Cardio is low impact slow and controlled. But 60mins flew by.

SO we are all up a little in weight …. oh well. The seasons change. so will our weight.
I have a RENPHO scale, it gives me 13measurements .. I put that data into ChatGPT (AI app) and ask it to give me feedback. At this point, it is sure that I am up 3# in water weight. AND with me now being Pain management med FREE….. YAY…. that's also playing into it.Just a girl - getting your cigars down from 3 to 2 YAY>…. Good goals .

Whoa! Still learning about AI and ChatGPT - all from my younger niece. I put in my stats - oh boy - I didn’t expect such a “real” sounding response. Interesting, fun, helpful, creepy! Sounded like a coach and a friend with a sense of humor, sarcasm, and wit. Bottom line - it helped me put things into perspective with a strategy unique to my situation.
But then she told me about those who develop relationships with chatbot…😬

Sherry, Congrats on being med free!!! I'm so happy to hear that! Regarding the water weight, I say its garbage we allow to take up real estate in our brains. That number can't negate all the hard work we put into our workouts. Muscle is healthy!

@ceebeeslim - I like the perspective chatGPT gives me.
I also use it to find out about things due to my brothers recent Cancer diagnosis. It can be easier to find the information I want without havign to search thru google. I know…some of the info can be lies/false. Not relying on it but, also believe that for some cases its a good tool.Hope you all have a good weekend and make it a weight loss weekend!
