Wowsers we're getting closer to Thanksgiving and THEN CHRISTMAS!! Wow. Anyhow, I made it to training last night. I still need to go to the chiro as my right hip is out of whack and I need it corrected before we leave in TWO weeks. Yikes. Training was great. I pushed and am feeling it - in a great way. I have her again Thurs and next week T/Th as well. Then break until we get back from Disneyland. So this morning my scale showed a decrease. I've broken the 245 and am showing 243.5 Progress!
I forgot to share my grocery fiasco this week. I had groceries delivered on Monday. The gal was super involved and texted me all sorts of things. Individual Pom cups expired the next day (I ordered four). But, the two pack expires on the 17th. Sure replace with the two pack. Well instead of two, I received ONE two pack. I ordered 4 beets, I think I got 2-4lbs of RADISHES. How do radishes replace beets?? I kept six but gave the rest way to my trainer (she and her girls like them - I can only eat a couple). I ordered two spaghetti squash, received 1. So in short, anything I ordered more than 1, I only received 1. Monday afternoon my guy arrived after 4 to install our Christmas lights on the house. I was out chatting with him and my neighbor as he did both of our homes. Well worth the $200 to put up and take down! Anyhow, yesterday I made the spaghetti squash. Well you ladies know how hard it is to cut those suckers open, so I started it in the InstaPot pressure cooker for 15 mins. It was so much easier to slice after. I found a super simple recipe with pesto, tomatoes, feta cheese and some italian seasoning. Once I got the squash cut and cleaned I filled with the mixture and put it in the small oven for 45 mins at 400. The feta cheese was gooey (don't use the crumble - use the block that's still in some brine), the tomatoes were bursting, the squash was just the right amount of crunch still - oh man. Super delicious!!! Hubby wanted some meat next time (maybe I'll brown some Italian sausage and add that in as well, but oh man. We still have some left over (hubby ate 3 helpings - for something he kept saying was "missing something - but man it's good"). Haha. I have enough for ME today for lunch. So hopefully I'll get TWO squashes with my next order.
Anyhow, hoping everyone has an amazing day - gotta get back to work.

OMG. I cannot believe that I was at the end of a long post, scrolled up to check something, and poof-my post disappeared. I need to run and get some things done, but I will be back later to post again. Need to remember to copy text at some point when a post is a little long. Arghhhhhh

LW: 151.1 - TW: 150.3
Sooooo close to the 140's! I was 149 when I got married 😁 And that was the lowest I had been in years. Although I'm still feeling a bit of the Fall/Winter blahs, I'm hoping that will pass soon. I'm still managing to get my workouts and steps done. My eating is good but I'm not tracking 100% of the time and my water intake could be a bit better.
Sarah - That new class you're registering for sounds good! Good to switch it up too so things don't get too boring. Weights, yoga and floor! Cool. And not teaching is a nice change too. I hear you about the weather. This limbo season of cold, warm, windy, bone chilling… I don't like it. Plus the darkness isn't fun. Although, the northern lights have been super amazing lately. I can deal with cooler temps, I just wish the wind would go away.
Lois - Ohh the grocery order fiasco made me laugh.. especially the radishes part. I have often thought about doing a grocery order so I don't have to go in myself to do it, but it's those kind of stories that I'm glad I don't. And congratulations on the progress!! Down, down you go! (in a good way lol)
Sheesh - Your trip sounded like it was a great time! And yes, some days it's REALLY difficult to not be able to take Advil. Extra strength Tylenol helps take the pain away, but only sometimes and I have to double it. It's better than nothing though I guess.
My back is still bugging me but it is much better than it was. I have to modify a lot of my exercises but I have learned to listen to my body. Hubby's body is way worse than mine. His knee is bugging him, probably because he's walking odd cause his feet are sore. I finally convinced him to book an appointment with an actual foot doctor and that appt can't come soon enough but it's in December. He walks on the outside of his feet and his feet are completely flat, so my guess is he needs orthotics of some sort. Then yesterday he was putting on deodorant and pulled something in his back. 😶 I try tell him that he needs to do daily stretching and movement plus drink more than a glass of water per day, but he'll have to figure that out on his own one of these days. I get that the ailments in his knee and feet hold him back from working out though.
On top of that, this week we are in the process of selling his truck and we bought a new one. His truck is lifted and quite a beast, plus it's a 2016 so it's just time. I will drive it if I have to but hate parking it cause it's so big and it uses quite a bit of gas. Just not ideal for us. So we bought a mid-sized truck - a Chevy Colorado and we get it on Monday. Shawn has also started slowly working on the basement, Ella is busy with hockey and had allergy tests done that were inconclusive so now she gets to do the back patch testing like I did, Tyler is busy working plus his gf just broke up with him … oh the joys of life.
My Mom is back home now as of Tuesday. They kept her in for an extra day, but I haven't heard why. Dad said she needed extra bloodwork and an EKG. I'm going to see them on Saturday and all she asked for me to do is put up their Christmas tree, so of course I'll do that. It'll be nice to visit with them.
Anywho.. I have to head out to a different location for a meeting. I hope everyone is doing well.

Great job Kelly!!!! Keep moving!!! And in my opinion, even with the couple of item mishaps, I solely do mobile grocery, Costco and restaurants. I don't know if it's socially healthy in hindsight, but I do not like to shop so I'm ok with it. Most of the times my orders are perfect. Enjoy your new truck. And I am still getting used to the size of my new Grand Highlander when parking in tight spaces so I can't even imagine anything larger.. My daughter drives a full size Tundra and she handles that thing like a Camry. I don't know if I'll ever get that confident. Hoping the back patch tests shows something so Ella can get some relief and preventative measures.
I met with the PA this morning at the bariatric center and they're ok with what I'm doing so far. I'm over the oral surgery complications and they're aware of my Disney trip and I'm still making slow progress. I meet with the doc again next month on the 8th. They have a 90 check in review with the doc to stay in their program. Enjoy the new truck! I hate to sell stuff, so we just do the trade ins with the dealer. I know we leave money on the table, but I can't handle the stress (probably why my 4Runner is still sitting in the driveway).

LW: 133.6
TW: 133.2A little progress but I still haven't gotten that third number to turn into a 2! But actually it's a miracle that that my weight is down and not up considering how much of that darn Halloween candy I had.
I am still bummed about my post yesterday just disappearing like that. However, one thing I mentioned in that post turned out to my horror not to be true. I said that I was going to have my follow-up mammogram and ultrasound at 3 p.m. Well, it turns out that somehow I got the wrong time in my head and didn't see the reminder email they sent late on Tuesday until 1 p.m. yesterday, and guess what—my appointment was at 10:30 and not at 3:00. So I missed it!
I couldn't believe that I did that. Hubby added my appointment to our kitchen calendar without the time, and somehow, I just thought it was 3 p.m., like my upcoming dentist appointment. When I realized what I had done, I called and the person who answered was super nice about it. I think she could tell how upset I was. But they cannot get me back in until December 8. And mentioning my upcoming dentist appointment, I have been waiting long past my usual cleaning schedule because my 6 months hit when I was recovering from the colon surgery, and right after that, my dentist lost her lease and had to reschedule everyone. And her hygienist is not in every day, so I also had to wait longer in order to get her instead of the dentist for the cleaning. I just think a hygienist does a better job with that particular service. Anyway, I got a text saying that the hygienist is not going to be in that day after all, and asking if I wanted to be put on the list to be called if there's a cancellation. Well, duh! The reason I've waited so long is see her. So frustrating. But as hubby said, it just is what it is and I have to roll with both the later mammo and probably another cleaning with the dentist herself. I know.
I didn't get back here yesterday to post because I had to do the food shopping for today. We are having a couple of friends over for dinner tonight. We used to see them often, but they moved to a town about 30 miles away, and he's a nurse with an odd schedule, so we don't seem the very often any more. I'm doing Thai food and had to hit several stores to get what I needed. By the time I got home, I had only about 40 minutes of daylight left and the wind was pretty stiff and it was very chilly. But I put on a couple of layers and headed out anyway to do part of my hilly route, and I just never got back upstairs to the office. So here's my 7-day averages for last week: Steps = 12,018; kcals burned = 1,793. I'm pretty happy with these.
Kelly, you are doing great, and I bet you will soon surpass your wedding weight. I'm glad to hear that your Mom came through her surgery okay, and I hope that the result is that she will feel much better than before. Bladder issues are tough. And yes, it's hard sometimes to get men to do things that would certainly help them feel better. I've been trying to get hubby to call his pain doc for months, and finally today, he did so. But why it took so long, I will never know. I think it's only his fear of having to cancel his upcoming trip to his cousin's that got him moving.
Lois, it's good news that the bariatric center is pleased with your progress. Keep going! And I hope the hip issue is something that can be remedied quickly. I know how much you enjoy those days at DL, but with all that hard pavement and on time on your feet, you need to be feeling up to snuff.
Well, hopefully, we will hear from Sheesh soon. Sounds like she had a wonderful time out in Portland, and she has been kicking "kitten" with her weight the past few months.
Hope everyone has a good Friday Eve! Oh yes, and Kelly—we have even seen some Northern Lights way down here in Maryland. Not the grand sight you see, but still a treat for us.0 -
LW: 126.4
TW: 125.8 (yesterday)Woo hoo! Even though it's closer to 126, it's sure great to see that 125 number! Jumped back into it after Oregon, logged food, and I've been working out harder than usual to keep it moving in the right direction. Sorry to miss posting yesterday, but we had a busy day, I fit in an hour workout and a 10 minute Apple yoga to help with the soreness from Monday with trainer. Then, we had theater tickets downtown to "Suffs" which I had never heard of. It's a musical about the suffrage movement, and was quite good. I looked it up, and apparently it was written (music composition also), directed, and the lead role all by the same woman. Wow, talented. Today, hubby played golf with his group. It was so nice today for November. And, I had my trainer and then went shopping, then came home and had an online playdate with my Cali grandsons, and now here.
Kelly, awesome number on the scale! Great work. You'll be at your wedding weight soon. Glad your mom is home and that you'll see her this weekend. Sorry about the girlfriend. That can be dramatic and hard for teens. Don't get me started on husbands and their health issues that they do nothing about! I'm sure we ladies could write a book about it, lol. Enjoy your truck! I still have my 2007 Chevy Tahoe! I love that thing, but it's a gas guzzler. We only keep it for big loads, mostly of kids and luggage we pick up and take back to the airport. Oh, and also, to take up room in our garage, hah. Hubby drives his Audi, and most of the time I drive the electric car around town. Luckily we have a 3 car garage. But, it's crazy to have 3 cars, but neither of us wants to give up one of them, lol. When our kids are here from Cali or Oregon they will use one at times.
Lois, I also don't have groceries delivered. During Covid, I would order them online, but picked them up. They somehow still got it wrong quite often. I just have to pick out my own. I'm very picky. Hubby makes fun of how I have to check all the expiration dates, and find the perfect level of ripeness of fruits and veggies. That spaghetti squash sounds good. I will have to try it. Glad you're getting into your trainer, and doing well with the bariatric diet. Have fun in DL.
Sarah, congrats on your reduction! Your autumn walk outside sounds like it was lovely. I'm hoping for a few more good days here. Sorry about the missed appointment. . that's frustrating. Good luck finding a class for winter activity. The other day I was thinking about Tai Chi for some reason. I saw some people doing it in Hawaii, and I've been intrigued. So graceful and calming, but I'm sure still difficult. I might look into that for a change of pace.
Gotta run now, hubby picked up some Chinese. Have a nice evening.

Great job Sheesh!!!! So proud of how you stay on track!!
We had hubby's work picnic on Saturday. He was at the park at 530am (I got there just after 7). It was a beautiful day. Cloudy and not too warm. As we were wrapping up, it got warm. Got home and then drip drip drop the rain slowly came in. we brought home way too much food. We had a Filipino family and they made some delicious pancit.
Hubby got the deer put together for the front yard…lol. Most of the decorations we brought from storage is up and empty boxes ready to go back on Sunday (or tomorrow if hubby is up to it). So we should be able to get the front yard before the weekend after the landscapers come today. (Big goal before we leave for Thanksgiving).
Cameron has one more playoff game this Friday. They lost their game last Friday, but they'll be in the brackets again if they win this Friday. So I'll be heading there Friday evening. Saturday afternoon Clar and Rhea are coming over to finish our last set of shirts. Then I have to get packing as we leave at 9pm next Wednesday. 10 days and Counting!!! I was also able to confirm with the hotel this morning that we will be in the Adventure Tower and have the concierge access.. Super fun.
So… my right hip is still out of whack and my vertigo is on edge. Hubby is taking me to get my back adjusted i a bit and possibly to therapy for my vertigo. UGH. That was the tough part of the weekend. Hoping the back and the head stable out asap.
Hoping everyone had a great weekend!!
