Roll Call, Friday, 12-5-2025
Many of us feel the need to remain connected by just signing in on a daily basis. We may have a lot to say or very little. We may say smart things, or dumb things. It doesn't matter if we're having a good day, a bad day...or something in between. We'll post our thoughts, our successes, our challenges, our insights (or lack thereof), and our support. We're here for each other. Together, we can do this!
This isn't about perfection...it's about perseverance: to persist in an undertaking in spite of counter influences, opposition, or discouragement.
Do one thing right today...whether it's drinking the liquids, eating the fruits and vegetables, taking the multivitamin, getting the dairies in, having the healthy oil, choosing whole grains...whatever.
Remember that, at its core, this plan is simple - eat a little less than you used to, eat a little healthier, be a bit more active. The rest is just finding the balance that works for you, and your friends on GOAD are here to share what's worked for them.
It's not always about the BEST choice. Make The Better Choice
Onward and Downward. Everyone is welcome!

Good morning everyone!
This weeks Hebrew word is highly-relevant to this group: eating!
The verb "to eat" is לאכול, pronounced le'ekhol.
I haven't been taking that many pictures here lately, so instead of a recent shot, here's a picture I took last year of my wife's sufganiyot (donuts). Hanukkah is coming, and with it is the tradition to eat fried/oily foods, such as donuts, to commemorate the miracle of the oil: when the Maccabees retook the land and the Temple from the Syrian-Greeks, they only had enough oil to light the menorah that was in the Temple for one day. Miraculously, the oil lasted for eight days, until more oil could be prepared. So, we eat donuts, latkes, and other yummy fried foods!
