New and in need of advice

Hello. I am coming from a very unhealthy calorie-obsessed outlook, and new to this low-carb world. My question is how exactly do I count my carbs for the day? I have read that Net carbs are the total carbs-fiber. Do I do this for all foods? I am trying to lose weight and restrict my carb intake, but I'm unsure of how many carbs I should be eating right now. Thanks for any help!!

    Use this: http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/
    And this: http://cavemanketo.com/configuring-mfp/

Count only net carbs for all foods. Most people on keto do around 20-50 carbs it all depends on your goals.

you can and should do your MFP set up to eliminate sugar and to count fiber. makes tracking net carbs much easier. since sugar is a carb you don't need to track it separately. 50 grams of net carbs a day is a good low carb start. Keto Calculator is a good tool.

Hi -- did you search MFP for "net carbs script" and find this advice from June? The reddit link has the link to download the script, and this explains how to install it in Chrome as an extension. Working for me on the PC. It doesn't show up in the phone app of course.
    good luck!

"OK. For those with Chrome and TamperMonkey go ahead and delete the script from from TamperMonkey. Go the to the Reddit conversation here: http://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/1glm3z/myfitnesspal_chrome_extension_not_working/

"In MrBobVilla's comment "I have an updated version of the script here. I also let the creator of the script know so that hopefully he will update the script officially," RIGHT CLICK the "here" and "save link as..." and remember where it downloads to (It's the updated version of the script).

"Click on Chrome settings, click on Tools then Extensions. Drag and drop the downloaded file to the open Extensions tab and the script will install as an extension.

"Now navigate to your food diary and see if the %s show up. If not then reload the page and they should be there. Make sure the script is NOT installed in TamperMonkey so maybe uninstall TamperMonkey if it isn't working."

I don't use the script. As long as you show fiber on your diary, it's just simple subtraction. Carbs - fiber = net carbs.
