Socks

I saw my foot doctor today and he didn't like my socks. I was wearing Brooks socks. I have blisters on my arches. I wear orthotics because I have flat feet/overpronateand the blisters are happening just at the edge of the orthotics. For me, it's really only a problem when I run for an hour or more. Anyway, he said it was because the (mostly) cotton socks were getting caught up on the orthotic insoles and then rubbing my feet. I have a couple of options:

1. Wear panty-hose (the nylons, the type that just cover your foot, that you might wear with summer shoes) under socks

2. Wear a silk, polypropylene, or coolmax sock liner that does the same thing. Both options 1 and 2 will reduce the rubbing on my feet as the rubbing will happen between the liner and sock, not between my skin and the sock.

3. Get different socks. He told me to find "Anti-Chafing Socks" by Wigwams (or was it Wrights?) and where to find them in my local store.

My feetures are my favorite too, but I only have one pair. I try to reserve them for my long runs. I keep meaning to order some more. I've had no time to visit the store--3 hours away.

OK then...two votes for feetures. I'll have to find those.

I love love LOVE my Balega socks. I have a mix of Balegas, Under Armor and New Balance Running socks, and the Balegas are by far my favorite. They hug tight to your arch but don't rub. And they are so soft, the first time I put them on I wondered if they would stop blisters and such but they were awesome. The running store here can't keep them in stock, so they are back ordered constantly.

They are from a South Africa company, so you know they are ligit..I mean after all they do have Kenya! The best part is they are in international delivering company, so you can order them from all over the world.
