How long?

I'm just curious, I workout at home and I don't have the push of other people wanting equipment ect. I try to limit my rest as to not take to much. I am wondering though, how much time does it take you to complete either workout? Im looking for something to gauge against.

Thanks.

  • When I started it took 30 minutes. 3+ months into it now and it takes 60 minutes.

I'm in week 7. Initially, about 30 minutes. Now, "A" about 50 minutes, "B" about 40 minutes. But, I just went back and looked at the SL guide and realized I'm not doing enough warm up sets.

Just as an FYI.. A great web site that will give you the needed warmup sets for different weights is: http://warmupreps.com/#

Yeah I remember the 30 minute days. Those were nice lol. Im anywhere from an hour to hour and fifteen typically, sometimes longer, that's 3 warm up sets ( 2 bar, 1 weighted) and then my 5x5 working sets. Seems reasonable I guess. Thanks guys.
  • I don't knowif your using any apps but I like to use JEFit apps to record my set and reps while using the timer that keeps me from under or over doing rest times between sets to keep times under a hour. It has kept my times just under a hour which is ideal.

I appreciate your testimonial. I took a look at JEFit and will try it out in the gym tomorrow. Looks like a huge improvement on the hodge podge of logging apps that I am currently using.

New here but this absolutely needs to be 'stickied' at the top. Its worth it just for us non-math people who have to literally calculate out plates for the bars !

I use the android app called "Liftbig". You just click next session and it tells you what exercises to do and with what weights, tracks stalls and auto deloads if needed. Also weight progression over time in a graph if youre into that stuff :)

Increments and deloads all custimizable. Best app I found so far.
