My ASICS APP

Was shopping around for a structured plan for after C25K and saw this asics app, It has you type in some basic info about your current abilities, then ask what you want to accomplish by distance and time(or you can select that you don't know)...then churns out a training plan.
I was wondering if any has tried this app/training plan and looking for thoughts or criticisms.
Thank you

Sorry forgot to include a link to the website as well

I am still in week 6 of C25K and signed up for a half next May...I started this plan and was wondering what other runners thought about it...I import my C25K to this site as well.0 -
I like that it builds in recovery. However...
My current base mileage is about 17 miles a week and I should continue running about that as I build to a 5k. This app didn't ask me current mileage, so it starts me off with three 3-mile easy runs and it never builds me up past those 9 miles a week.
Then it continues to have me run three times a week, but changes to two interval speed work sessions and a tempo-paced run. No long run. That's a lot of speed work with no easy/long runs.
From my understanding 5k running plan should concentrate on speed work, but it shouldn't be more than 10% of your total workout (I think).
This is more of a FIRST-type plan (Run Less, Run Faster) that might work for an experienced runner. I'd hesitate to suggest it to a C25k graduate.0 -
I see your points...for me the half that i registered for is 32 weeks away...I still have 3.6 weeks left with C25k..so I am continuing that to completion substituting the easy 1 mile jogs with the app with my C25k runs...the week after C25K ends, is the first 4.5(long run) so I think i'll slip right into the plan without much problem a the end of C25K...
Supposedly as you train the program is supposed to adjust your pace/distance according to how well you are doing...I entered that I currently run between 20-30 minutes and it has set my easy runs at 14.41 (I walk about that fast with fast recovery walks)0 -

I'm no expert on this. You might want to post the question in the Long Distance Runners group. There are people there who can build a great plan out of their heads and are actually qualified to offer advice on this one.0
