W5D3 - I Made It

I have been reading the posts and have not been active as I was unsure about my ability to keep pressing on. 30 years ago or so, I was a runner and enjoyed it. 20 years of smoking (I quit back in 2003), and about 80 pounds heavier, I decided that things had to change. So last year I started losing the weight and started running when I got down to the 225 range. I did a 5K a year ago and walked a portion of it but around Christmas hurt myself and was not able to continue. I have been messing around with it for a few months and decide a week ago that I was going to do the 5K in my hometown when I go up for our family reunion.
Only problem is, it's only 4 weeks away. So I started at W4D1 and figured lets see what happens. (Again I have been mixing jogs in with my walks for about a month now) Anyway, Today was W5D3, It was not easy by any means but I gutted it out and made the 20 minutes. Hopefully I will be able to get the rest of it knocked out and do the 5K on Oct 12th.
Thanks for "listening" to my ramblings.

Way to go! You can do it, 4 weeks is plenty of time.
If you don't hit your goal, remember how much better off you are than you would be if you were doing nothing.0 -
I just posted a new Virtual 5K thread for the new week (Monday-Sunday), so feel free to practice by participating in our informal 5K here!0
