Creaky joints

It's been four months since I started weight training, I am much stronger and feel better - but find to my mild horror that my knees and neck have both started creaking. There is no pain, but the sound from the neck, especially, is most disconcerting. Could this be a result of the lifting, or just a coincidence? I was diagnosed with spondylosis nearly 15 years ago and as long as I do my yoga (which I continue), I find that I am pain and symptom free. (My doctor, also a yoga guru, said that if the muscle are kept strong and limber they will take the pressure off the bones/joints and anyway, till now I have had no problem). It's just that the sound when I turn my head really freaks me out, going cccrreeeaaak, like the sound of scratchy chalk on a slate, aaargh. Anyone out there with similar sounds - and should I just ignore it if there is no pain?

I have been taking Nature Made Triple Flex for about 3 month now. It is Glucosamine Chondroitin and MSM.
Per Amazon's description:
TripleFlex works with your body to naturally improve long term joint mobility and flexibility. Triple Strength TripleFlex Original Formula replenishes key nutrients for long term continuation of your joints' health.
Glucosamine 1,500 mg: Glucosamine sustains joint cartilage and helps to maintain joint elasticity and flexibility*
Chondroitin 800 mg: Chondroitin is a naturally occurring nutrient that helps maintain fluidity to cushion joints*
MSM 750 mg: MSM provides a natural source of dietary sulfur that enriches the mobility of your joints*
Now it could be coincidental, but after a month of taking, I stopped getting creakiness in my knee and ankle. I have also not have any knee pain at all for that time as well.
I know there can be other factors in play, but I plan on continuing them until I figure/experience otherwise. :0 -
Thanks Joy_Joy - that's good to know that you found benefit with it. I had taken this combination of Glucosamine+Chondroitin some 15 years back when I first started getting knee pain - my trainer at that time said that if I got a benefit, it would be in 6 weeks - if not, then it probably won't work. He said not all people benefit with it, perhaps it depends on whether it is a lubrication issue in the first place? So I began taking this too last month - so far I don't find it better but I shall perservere.
Would you know if you can take this long term? I recall reading something about cholesterol levels going up with Glucosamine - but, hey, I would rather live with an increased risk of that than have painful joints.0 -
