Hi All,

I posted this on my Newsfeed today

"I am babysitting today. I haven't seen my grandkids since last Thursday, and the SMILES and HUGS they had for me ALWAYS melts my heart!! We went to the park to play...and I purposely trot along side of them to get my exercise in. I did my 5th Day of Push up training this morning, and could feel the DOMS...hehehe (delayed muscle soreness)...from this mornin's training while pushing them on the swings! Having a grand time... "

I TRULY want to continue all of my fitness challenges and food logs to make sure I am working my way to a strong body. Being on MFP two years in December, I can truly say that I have gotten myself VERY healthy, and I am sooo HAPPY about it. It DOES take being aware everyday of what I put into my body, and the exercise I do. Movement is everything, even if it is JUST a bit...

I am PROUD of EVERYONE on this forum, cause you are AWARE that taking care of yourself means becoming stronger in mind and body everyday.

Many have already share their journeys. I LIKE that we are SASSIE SENIORS  I hope we can keep this thread active.

Take care and will journal again tomorrow

Hugs an Smiles :flowerforyou:

debilang, I  how you wrote " the SMILES and HUGS they had for me ALWAYS melts my heart!! " Oh, so true. I'm needing a grandma fix pretty soon  . Both of mine started school now so time is much more limited  .

And I'm so proud of you for doing "push up training". That totally rocks. What plan are you doing? I ran across one a good while back and lost track of it. But it was quite challenging and back then I didn't know that much about strength training either. I'll have to search it another day, getting late here  .

I also hope we keep this group active. Many groups become inactive :frown: .

    Hi *texasgardnr* :flowerforyou:

I really appreciate your post! Aren't grandchildren just our  ?

The push up challenge is from www.hundredpushups.com. It is a six week training program, and I train Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. I *really* appreciate the rest day in between. I am on Week 2, Day 5. I constantly try to make sure that I am doing the push up correctly, so that I can really improve my upper body strength. I am also gearing up for the Squat Challenge. That will be REALLY good for lower body.

I am happy really happy for our forum. Look forward to hearing more about you :drinker:

    Take care,
    Deb

I tried to quote but messed up, Above was what you wrote to me

Thanks for the reply Deb, . Yes, that was what the name of it was! I recognize it  . I read about it on a post in the forums many months ago. It actually sounded quite scary to tell the truth :noway: . Hmmmm, I may just have to get brave and join in soon. I used to be able to do a couple, but haven't done any in quite awhile :embarassed: .

On your home page under the forum topics under the "MyFitnessPal News " blog there is a blog about " How to Do the Perfect Push-up " posted yesterday. Did you happen to see that?

I am also delighted about this group!!

    Nighty night y'all

    Hi *texasgardnr* :flowerforyou:

I will check "How to do the Perfect Push Up" ... I've seen other sites on how. I am STILL at the Half Push Up (on knees)...I had a headache the first few sessions, but it got better. Trying to breathe right, etc. I am on Wk 2 Day 3...and it *is* getting challenging...but that is what they are all about, right...challenging our limitations...

There are other upper body exercises other than push ups. I will start to incorporate when I get stronger :drinker: Glad you are active here. It is NICE to hear other Sassie Seniors experiences.

Have a WONDERFUL WEEK-END...my turn to start yawning

    G'nite  Deb
