To Lie, or Not to Lie..That is the question

Okay, so it is sort of funny, but I really wanted to hear what you all think. My birthday is two weeks away. I need to get a new driver's license. I am close,to being under 200 and I REALLY want to put that I weigh under 200 on my driver's license since it is valid for the next five years. Now, I know that people lie about their weight all the time on their driver's license, but not me. I have always claimed a true weight. So, what do you guys think? Should I lie about my weight? If so, do I claim something realistic like 198 since that is about 10 pounds away, or do I go for broke since I'm lying anyway and claim 165 since that my goal? Discuss.

Honestly, I can't believe states still require weight! I would lie a lot like tell them 900lbs.
  • I vote for 'lie'. You have to live with the license for the next 5 years so put down what your vision is and just call it another way to be accountable :)

Does anyone actually have an honest weight on their driver's license? :-)

I'm pretty sure the accepted method is to take your actual weight and subtract the number of miles per hour you routinely exceed the speed limit on the highway. This takes into account the acceleration due to gravity has on your actual weight, and in layman's terms is known as your "driving weight."

    Goal weight definitely :)
  • I say tell the truth. Besides, when you actually reach your goal weight, you're going to want a new license anyway!

I go with lie!! But let me tell you I did quite the happy dance when I finally weighed what my license said earlier this year!

I d go with your 198. When you get to goal accidentally iron your DL AND MAKE A COUPLE OF NUMBERS ILLEGIBLE AND GET A NEW ONE.
  • I'd say 165. You KNOW you're going to be there soon, so it'll be more accurate over the five years than 200 would be.

I put my actual weight on my DL in May of 2012. This May (my bday) I had to get a new one - as I had lost so much weight since May of 2012 I no longer looked like the picutre on my DL. The DL office said if I had more than 6 months left to go on the license then I was required to get it updated. So go with your 198 and then when you hit goal - get another one! It is such a cool feeling! The lady doing the pictures (she was very overweight herself) saw the old and looked at me and said - whoa! That made me feel awesome.. Also had to get my military id updated too. Congrats on your weight loss to date...

So I got my license today, since my birthday's tomorrow and my old one will expire, and I went with the 165!! I am so close to the 200 pound mark, and my doctors say if I keep doing what I am doing, I will no doubt be at 165 if not under that in no time.

In other news, the lady at the DMV could not believe the difference in my before and after driver's license pictures. The comment was "Let's get a photo where you actually look like you!" I laughed, and for once actually like how the picture came out!
  • Yay! Good decision. :o)
  • And happy birthday!!
