Hi,

I'm going to start nrol4w tomorrow. I'm wondering what size weights most of you ladies out there used at the beginning? Particularly those of you who were new to lifting.
Not sure what to start the squat with especially.
Thanks

It's specific to the person. How did it go?

I decided to start light like he said in the book. I found most of it easy enough going so will move up weight today.

    Squat: 11kg/24lbs
seated row; not sure of the weight but four of those bars, don't know what they weigh.
    step up: 15kg/33lbs
    dumbbell shoulder press: 10kg/22lbs
    lat pulldown: 4 bars
    lunge: 15kg/33lbs

What you're doing sounds fine. I found I got to know more about what my body can do by just doing it. I jumped into it never having lifted over 8 lbs before.

My first week was REALLY light because I have weak connective tissue and didn't want to take any chances on injury. Tendons and ligaments are weaker than the muscle. I think I used 8 lb dumbbells for one exercise. The next week, I kicked it up. Sometimes, I'll do one set and then realize that I could go heavier, so I use heavier on the second (and third) sets and then that's my new baseline for the next session. You'll be a pro in no time!
