Hi All,
A brief introduction:

I'm Jess. I've had a pituitary tumor for some time. It was first discovered when, as a child (age 12-13), I gained tons of weight and had severe symptoms. (It took 'em a few years to find the source.) It came back as a late teen and ever since, I've struggled with low/non-functioning thyroid, very high cortisol, and high prolactin.

I feel so fortunate to have found a group of people who "get it." People outside of the pit-world will say, "Just get outside today! Go for a run!" without understanding that cortisol overload can prevent that.

While it's a lot harder for us to lose weight, I don't want to define who I am by this diagnosis, for I did that all too often when I was younger.

I'm the heaviest I've ever been as an adult; the last time, I looked Cushingoid. This time, I think I just look heavy.

Either way, please feel free to friend me. I'd love to hear your success stories and how you've combined managing your PT and weight loss.

We can do this!! :)

Neurologically yours,
Jess
