Hi everyone! I am new to this group and usually keep the carbs low, I eat bread on occasion and as an Indian woman let me tell it is hard to cut out carbs (you can't eat mom's home cooked meals.) Anyways, I have a question, I make tomato soup which I consider low carb, I usually do not add whipped cream so it is a little more "watery" but I add maybe half a cup of half/half cream. Is that okay and what else can be used instead as a low carb soup thickener?

  • This is half a cup per 4ish servings btw, not just one.

Other than heavy cream, you could use coconut milk, sour cream, cream cheese & maybe plain yogurt.
  • I will try sour cream (I think the taste will jive), I have not taken to coconut milk yet, thanks for all the recommendations Fendi_Doll!
