So lucky! I loved Zumba back when I had access to a class with a gym membership (I've now dropped that membership due to finances :( ) Anyway, you really don't need to bring anything special -- just the towel and water that you're already bringing. What kind of shoes are you going to wear? I think I always just wore tennis shoes and that was fine. It depends on the flooring.

Hi that's all I take, I have been doing zumba for about 2 years. I also found that dance trainers are much easier on your knees as they spin and slide better on the floor. Possibly something you want to look at if you decide to continue with it. Zumba is a fun workout, it all depends on your instructor as to how high impact it is. Our instructor is nuts and works us out really hard but it is great, not like exercise at all! It will take you a little while to pick up the routines but just have fun. As you probably know its based on salsa moves, so lots of twisting and changing direction from my experience, recently lots of jumping too! enjoy and let us know how you get on, free exercise is too good to turn down :)

    I loved Zumba!
After a year of it, however, I developed knee and ankle issues.
Now I do Aquazumba and have suggested to my gym to offer Zumba Gold which is designed for those who need lower impact and less twisting.

I love regular Zumba but can't do it too often. If I do, it inflames my back from the twisting. I found a dvd which is lower impact & less twisting.

I also like dance trainers. Do take lots of water & a towel. Let us know how you like it.

I like it too but just do it at home using a couple of lessons on YouTube.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! To me the fun of Zumba is that it doesn't really matter what you do (as long as you don't whack into others in the class), it's music and you're moving and it's fun! It doesn't seem like exercise to me.
  • I agree....
