October Challenge

Hey guys,

I know many of you participated in the September challenge. Don't forget to say how you did over there! This month i'm trying to lose 10- 17 lbs. It will be rough but I intend to work really hard, particularly in the cardio department. Who's with me and what are your goals? :wink:

Last recorded weight: 157.8 lbs on 10/04/2013

    I just started induction this week. Day 3 for me and doing ok so far. I will be happy to join the challenge. I would love to lose 15-20 lbs. by the 31st. Feel free to take a look at my diary and make any suggestions to help me do this right. Love this plan:)

    I'm on it, doggone it! Count me in :) I am weighing myself in the morning of October 6, 2013. My timeline will have my beginning October weight as the 6th. ...I'm super excited and good luck/have fun to you all!

    I am glad you picked up the slack for the month of October, I am with ya! doing day 5 of induction, well i guess I am always on induction, ( I had a carb meal last friday night for dinner), so that broke the old streak, good to be here

    That makes two of us in the "always on induction" department. :smile: I messed up big time today but i'll correct those mistakes tomorrow.

    My goal for October will be to get down 10 pounds...the point where I was at since April and then went on a roller coaster up and down. Then to the end of the year will be 15 pounds below that. I remember last year at the holidays I felt so uncomfortable, clothes didn't fit good, tired. At least I'm down from that point I guess!

    I was reading some of timwhoa's things about fat fast...may have to try that!

    I seriously thought I would be under 300 back in sept, the my body and the scale had differant plans, I eat and perform pretty much as I have for the past 8 months, i have a hard time calling this a platue , but whats happening and I can see it is my skin is tightening, there are inches shrinking especially about my mid section, pants are loser and I am down 1 shirt size in the past 6 weeks, by staying positive and by staying on induction/ low carb, I have this very real sensation that my body is in this adjustment phase, preparing to drop big wieght again, I know I cant afford skin surgery later, so this process is important to me now, not forcing it down with weeks of repeated Fat Fasting, but giving myself a chance to "rearrange" so to speak, i can see it, I can feel it, so my attitude stays up, Will I get under 300 in the month of Oct, who knows, I am going to resist wieghing myself till Nov 1 and see what happens,

    Now that's dedication! I don't know if I could go without weighing at least weekly. :blushing:
  • im totally in my starting weight after i got from vacation at the end of sept was 192lb
    il weigh at the end of october. im really hoping for 20lbs loss since i know some of the weight i gained was water weight from bread. so lets see if i can pass by my lowest weight. im also doing t25 with some IF.

    I am on day 3 of induction, after completely blowing things for a week when my parents were here.

    Goal is to get to 152 by the end of the month, 5 more lbs! We are already 1/2 way through October - yikes!

    Well...I did great last week and then I feel off last night at dinner. We were at a banquet and instead of just eating the meat of the fried chicken I ate the skin, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn...and a pumpkin bar. So back up again this morning. BUT instead of continuing on the cycle and getting crap for breakfast and crap for lunch and crap for dinner...right back this morning with an egg with some chicken for breakfast.

    Great job!!!

    I am feeling very tired and low energy this morning. Not quite sure why. My keto stix were moderate to large yesterday and I ate 1200-1500 calories every day all weekend. Hope I am not coming down with something, like everyone else at work is!!!

    Oh, ETA CW: 156 this morning - happy with that!

    Just checking in, I feel off the wagon for 3 days, kinda fun to eat anything i wanted, at the same time i saw the blood sugars start to rise,, had to stop it, back on induction today, its nice to take a pit stop along lifes road, but for my heatlh I have to go back to what keeps me healthy, I never want to put the weight back on, going to have some lettuce burgers for dinner tonight, yum,,

    I actually had my first planned carb up day 2 days ago. Popcorn and 4oz of a smoothie at the movies :tongue: . Back to induction now though! :wink:

    There are ladies here who are master Fat Fasters, they make the recipies on the web site http://www.carbsmart.com/fatfast.html I always take the easy road out on the fat fast,, and eat only cream cheese or butter all day, maybe a couple ounces of tuna with full fat mayo,, talk about hard core fat fasting,, but it sure works, it takes HUGE HUGE MENTAL power to stay on the fat fast for several days, I always go into it with great treperdation

    Some things I eat:
    4 slices of bacon
    Bulletproof coffee (coffee w/heavy cream, butter, coconut oil)
    2 Hard boiled eggs with 2 TBLS Mayo
    1/4 avocado with 1oz tuna and 1 TBLS Mayo
    1/4 cup Macadamia nuts
    1oz nitrate free salami w/1oz cream cheese (or other full fat cheese)
    Various fat bombs - google some recipes to see what you like

    It totally works!

    ETA: you are supposed to keep it to 1000 calories for the day, but I usually can't stay that low and go about 1200.

    day 3 of induction started, IT FEELS SO GOOD AGAIN!!,, i just love how empowering it feels to be in ketosis, you get strength from the inside out, you dont need will power on induction, will power FINDS YOU!,,

    Thanks Tim! Will power really does find you on induction. I think I got kicked out of ketosis and i'm struggling to get it back together. Having a rough time getting back under 20 net.
  • first day of fat fast
    started with 5 slices of bacon and my own version of bullet proof coffee since i dont have all the ingredients so i just put some cream and 1tbsp of butter

    What is this day 5 of ketossis again, its such a blurr, the past 9 months, but look its a pattern mostly on kesosis, sometimes off, 90 percent on, it looks like this time will be the last time i diet, why you may ask, because this is how i have to eat for the rest of my life, when you find it within yourself to realize your "diet" is how your supposed to eat, then you will finally make it to thin, and stay thin, SO,, with that said which "diet" would you rather be on, the one where you you crave and count daily, or the one where you EAT like a crazy on food that makes you feel great!

    Sorry you didn't like it! Sometimes I put in some unsweetened cocoa powder or a little vanilla or cinnamon and some Splenda (or Stevia).

    My cheat days tend to be real cheat days, unfortunately.

    So, things are not looking good for this month! I got down to 155.5, then went on a business trip to Las Vegas and came home at 160. We'll see what 10/31 looks like...trying to be good the rest of this week.
