Hello
I've just finished week 2 day 2 of my program (I'm using the zen labs app), but I'm a little concerned because with the warm up and cool down, 31 mins in total, I'm already covering just over 2 miles which seems like a lot considering after 8 weeks the goal is 3 miles. I try to go at a pace where I don't have to stop during the running sessions but should I slow down maybe? I'm only 19 and I'm a healthy weight so my other theory is I just wasn't as unfit as I thought I was.....

If you're breathing comfortably, then no. If you could say a sentence out loud without gasping for air, you're fine. Congratulations on the progress
Also, never be afraid to slow down. When you get to 3+ mile running, pacing yourself becomes more important than being speedy0 -
Are you running outside or on a treadmill.
I just know that my warm up walk is like 0.1mile when I am outside, but on a threadmill its 0.5miles - though I do admit I take it easy in the warm up/cool down walks0 -
You sound fine. Just know that you probably have room to slow down if you need to later.0

Yeah you're fine for now. I found as the program went on some of my runs slowed, others sped up. It's easy to go fast during the shorter runs, but you will begin to find you pace yourself as the time increases.
I was doing 3 miles in about 36/37 minutes at that stage (my loop at the time was 3 miles) including the WU&CD now I'm up to about 3.6mile in around 35-40 minutes (I'm finishing the program tonight/tomorrow), with my pace about the same as it was back at W2D2. I've had slower & faster runs between now & then.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I am running outside but its very flat ground by a canal
It sounds like I should leave my pace as it is but I'll probably slow down when I have to run for longer periods?

Yeah, leave your pace as it is for now, you will adjust as you get further into the program.
You might slow down, or you might speed up, just go with the flow.
