So there's this semi-famous video of John Schumacher doing a bunch of arm balances It's well know, partially because of the routine, partially because he's wearing a purple unitard.

John is an amazing teacher and practitioner. If you ever want to hear what good, clear instruction sounds like, check out his classes on ihanuman.

Anyway, his friend George Purvis happens to be one of my main senior teachers. George is a really funny guy and is always cracking jokes. Last time George was doing a workshop here, someone brought up the purple unitard video. George made a joke that during that convention (1990 Iyengar), it was the only time he moved faster than John Schumacher - he grabbed the blue unitard. I thought he was joking. A week ago, his wife sent me the video to post on youtube for them. Here it is:

Now I have some new goals:wink:

Feel free to share your favorite amazing videos here. I prefer ones where the people are over 40  (both John and George were close if not over 40 in 1990)

Ana Forrest always amazes me. I believe she's at least 50 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTcLhOlIk5I

Purple unitard heh? gives me an idea for my next profile pic!

Interesting article I think - John Schumacher suggests that yoga is a whole health and fitness regime without the need for weightlifting or cardio to be complete.

I often practise to this one, though I don't think Mark Gonzales is over 40 yet, but he is an excellent gymnast, parkour and anything bodyweight, as well as an excellent yogi.

I posted another video from that conference, once I got permission from Patricia. Amazing! One day I hope my drop backs are half as graceful as hers:
