The BF thread inspired me to recheck my BF%, which I haven't done in 3-4 months, and I'm blown away. I'm currently 25-26%, down from 30%. I used the same machine (Innerscan hand to foot BIA professional model), same conditions etc. as usual. Could the heavy lifting and increased protein intake over the past 3 or so months cause such a dramatic drop like that? I have had others recheck theirs from some time ago and theirs is similar to their last reading. It seems reasonably accurate....
My weight's the same.
I feel like an idiot asking this question. Someone, put me out of my misery please.....

Yes, and hopefully that's the answer.
But it could also just be inaccurate measurements, as bioelectrical impedence is a highly inaccurate method.

The one I have is a SMF-BIA which I believe is more accurate than the standard BIA....at least, it's been published in the Eur J Clinical Nut as having acceptable accuracy compared to DXA, although it tends to underestimate BF. I have access to DXA so it would be interesting to compare.
It would be nice to think that my new regimen is having such an effect. I've certainly seen some changes in the mirror.
Thank you for replying and putting me out of my misery.0
