I am tempted to try the couch to 5K program. Do you think that taking up jogging at our age is a good idea?

Yes, I started running last October, at the age of 63. Tomorrow I am running in a half marathon.

Depends. I would check with your Doctor first. Not a good exercise if you have knee problems. If everything checks out ok then go for it!

I took up running/jogging a month ago...I am 62 ... I started running for a few minutes during a walk and have built up to running between 30 and 40 minutes .... I tend to just run downhill or on the flat at the moment....... but I am consistently running four or five times a week and really loving it ...... had aching thighs at first but no longer. As always check with a doctor if you have health issues.

The book that inspired me is called Run Fat B!tch Run ...I think it has a different title in the US ..... it convinced me that as long as we are relatively healthy we can run...any age... and any weight...... just go at your own pace .... there were people in the book taking up running in their late 50's which inspired me to give it a go.....and there is a guy running still in his 80's.

As Ruth , the author of the book says....if you can roll off the sofa and get yourself upright, you can go outside and walk....jog....run......

It makes me feel good
