Exercising on fast days

Hi - I did 5:2 for most of a year but stopped over the summer holidays. I really liked it and did well at it so I'm starting again now with alternate fasting days. I'd like to know how other people exercise on fast days - do you exercise, do you eat back exercise calories, or only exercise on up days? I'm a plasterer (yes, and female) but only work a couple of days a week. When plastering days fall on fasting days I find I get faint and dizzy if I stick to 500 calories - it's physically hard work, I don't know how many calories it burns but it makes you ache the next day! Generally I just eat a little extra and still count it as a fast day, what do you think?

    Hi,

I run, fast day or not. I pretty much never eat my exercise calories on purpose. I will eat them as a buffer if I am super hungry, or a random piece of cake decides to attack me. I don't eat them ever on fasting days.

If you only work a couple days a week - maybe you could just shift your fasting day by 1 day for them? Or split them into 2 medium days.

I'd be more worried about your safety on the job site than any slight impact on your weight loss.
